These are the words that got my attention related to this topic and are remaining in my memory collective responsibility, education for all, global Issues, connection, deeper understanding, awareness, acceptance of others, intercultural, injustice, evolution in teaching, and equality. Apart from this from the discussion, I do remember a few similarities that seem important to me is that human rights, gender equality, a secure and peaceful world, common agenda of political structures, empowerment, analysis, challenge, global citizenship for all, theory as well as action needs to take place with a transformation on the part of individuals. The differences were person-oriented and action-oriented, analyzing the root causes and sustainable development.

I thought It was a very good idea of going back to my younger days to think about the connection with the world. I was sharing about the awareness that we used to create by joining the Ncc, Redcross in the school. It was mostly about cleanliness, planting a sapling, helping the poor with money or food, and doing first aid. It enlightened me when I read Mesa's generations that I have experienced in my school days what exactly has been written. The second generation was also experienced by me when I started my college studies. As we have various educational institutions one of our schools is specially caters to the children from slums and it is operating in the local language whereas these NGOs that are world vision use the adopting a child policy they used to provide funds for breakfast and some stationaries too. This exactly was fund raising in the name of the children.Once I completed my college of 3 years was sent to rural place to teach the newly begun school. We used to go to the villages apart from school ministry during the holidays to visit self help groups as part of our social ministry. It was going on well but after some years this also became fundraising that is to get loans and pay loans. When I read the third generation, this also has been my experience. Since I live in a community where various ministries are in it, one of the ministries in s social ministry where they took up the development project knowing the situation in an area in order to develop people in that area at all levels by training the employees who work with us, but this also has failed because people are only for money as their need is greater than anything else. The fourth generation was also experienced by me because the article speaks about peace education, human rights, and eco-development. When I did my teacher education one of my elective papers was peace education and in the school where I presently work, a lot of awareness has been given in the assemblies about climate change, care for mother earth, and the environment. The fifth generation started to critically think about the development that is systemic change and lobbying. Bringing change in the political structure as well as bringing gender equality. Now I am into this development education as a teacher in the school, my understanding is that it is all about educating the future generation to take personal responsibility for global development. I feel we are not moving forward because the understanding or the interest lies among the young generation around how to make money rather than the common good except for a few who are really interested in others and the environment.

I think almost all the goals of SDGs are important according to my family, community, and country. At the same time when I read the roadmap of UNESCO, my thoughts on choosing a particular goal have been changed. Rather I would implement ESD which is education for sustainable development which needs transformation in oneself. It is slightly related to quality education but it is not exactly the same. In today's scenario where injustice, inequality, violence, bribe, smuggling, kidnapping, child trafficking, alcoholism, harassment, bullying, abuse, pornography, sex, cybercrime, Prostitution, migration, displacement, business, wealth, power, and disrespect to nature and the environment as a whole are present, the only solution or the suggestion would be to educate the younger generation of the effects that will have in the future on self and the environment. Hoping that education on sustainable development will bring some change in the present moment or later. I understand that education is the only way to transform and bring change in the society.

Change is constant everywhere at any time. It can bring the world upside down and back and forth. In today's world when I look at India, Many educational institutions are started just to make money. It has become a business like the medical field. In India, there are too many private educational institutions that also have the advantage of giving a basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills to the students. Apart from that, mostly the purpose of it is to make money. If I put myself into the shoes of the students thinking, almost all educated students want to make money and bring up their own families rather than bringing in change in society. I read Teresa's story which has made an impact on society. Truly a Gospel woman who ventured when she saw the needs of society. The same spirit needs to be present among the young generation to cater to society. This will come only when the youngsters are educated in a way that will enable them to be a change in the world. In the present scenario, our educational institution caters to girl children to bring in overall development. It could mean that the children are being educated in reading, writing, arithmetic, analyzing, speaking, identifying, dancing, singing, drawing, leadership, vocational skills, moral values, ethics, and sports. Other than these awareness has been given to the students on various issues like eco-friendly, global warming, pollution, goals of SDGs, human rights, children's rights, women's rights, poverty, caste system, religion, economic crisis, common good, environmental degradation, abuse disease, business, faith, spirituality, corruption, personal responsibility, and politics. The children are aware of the situation of the world around them but are not willing to risk their lives for a cause and purpose or to enter into politics. This is a challenge for each one of us. In India, the New education policy to some extent addresses this issue.

A world in 200 years' time to come
I was interested to do this activity. I imagine a world after 200 years where everyone would understand each other from their heart. I say this because in some way or another each one would experience the fall at some time or the other. As I said only change is constant, all the other things in the world are ever-changing be it poverty, wealth, inequality, oppression, belief, culture, traditions, language, disease, addiction, disaster, power, population, crimes, etc.
As I come from a commerce background, what comes to my mind is from now on the world will experience the worst level where everything is rampant, when it reaches its peak will be worn out and tired, feeling meaningless, and then slowly declining to zero level. This Zero level of the world will not know what is crimes, what is poverty, what is injustice, what is inequality, what is power, what is wealth, what is customs, what is tradition, what is culture, what is beliefs, what is religion, and what is color. It will know only know that humans have life and that can give life to each other. Love flows in abundance for each other, Understanding and thoughtfulness are inseparable, and boundaries for each country never exist, people are responsible, conscious, happy, and joyful, leaders for themselves leading their life and young meaningfully, living with the minimum, including everyone in their circle, greater participation, no disaster, no disease, fewer population, no pollution, plenty of trees and plants, plenty of animals and birds, no gadgets, equal distribution of land, living life as one family, lot of outdoor play with fewer materials, living life to the fullest. Peacefulness is present day and night, no war, no envy, no revenge, no vengeance, no violence, no competition, no fear, no trembling, no hiding, no migration, no protests, no activists, no articles, and fresh air to breathe in. I also say that where young minds are enlightened to work hard and take care of their elders with love and care.

Week 9-Climate Change

I do teach about Climate Change to the students. Almost every year we used to have rainfall in Chennai which is in Tamilnadu more than expected. We have to keep ourselves awaiting, what is going to happen to us because the disaster is such that most of the houses will be underwater. so this is one of the examples for me to teach about climate change in the class by giving a normal lecture involving the participation of the student in class 12. We have already club activities set aside once a week to talk about SDGs, in the school where I presently work. It's an opportunity for me to speak about climate change. I do ask many questions like what causes climate change, what is our contribution to climate change, what are the effects of climate change, and what is our role in order to have a world that is free from disaster and fresh air to breathe in. As a whole school, we have some of the practices of plastic-free, segregation of waste, using eco-friendly products, using lesser papers, planting saplings wherever possible at home and in the school, taking care of plants, keeping the surroundings clean and making it pollution free be it of land, water, etc. Other than that global issues are talked about at the world level like the melting of Ice and, the rising of sea level, the predictions that are made about Chennai, that this whole of present Chennai will not be there in the future because of the rise in the sea level as it is near to the sea everything will be under water. Awareness is given to them to update themselves about various issues globally, and to take personal responsibility for bringing change to the future. we also have a plan for the whole academic year where the themes are highlighted like climate change, environmental day, and so on. So based on the theme the students of that particular class will prepare an assembly for the whole school. This will be some kind of awareness that is given to the whole school. We also conduct seminar sessions by inviting resource persons from outside the school to talk about the usage of gadgets and how they affect their health in detail as well as the effect on the environment.
In light of my reading and lecture, so far I have not given awareness on policies, procedures, or strategies that can be adopted or taking participation in deciding for our country about the issues that affect the world be it climate change, poverty, or equality. So this will be one of my effort in the future to teach the students how to bring a change in the systems and structures as a student and outside the school setup, as they are in the last of their schooling. Some of the initiatives that they can take at their level and movements that they can get inspired and sign up for free will be motivated and encouraged in the school.

Week -10- Participation in Decision Making

Participation in Decision Making
As I look back on my story, most of the time others decided for me which I would accept and happily go about doing things that worked wonders. There were times that I regretted that I should have raised my voice while making decisions. The other times I have given my views, opinions, ideas, and suggestions and participated in decision-making. A few times I have asked for suggestions, views, opinions, and ideas from others before I could make a decision. Having experienced all these, in various situations, and in various places, I do have to make decisions. In the classroom presently where I am teaching class 12 students If I have to decide upon something, firstly I will tell about the situation or the content to decide upon and then I welcome ideas, views, opinions, and suggestions from the students. Then I choose according to my knowledge whichever is best and put forth the decision in front of them to agree upon, in case of any hesitations again the decision is revised and another decision is made where all are comfortable and happy to work on it. I also give the pros and cons of the decision that is made by the students. In the school where the top management level the headmistress is in charge, most of the decisions are not participatory. It is one-sided decisions that are made and informed to the teachers and students. Mostly all of them are done forcefully. The suggestions are not taken by the management of the teachers and students. This is one of the disadvantages that does not encourage the teachers and students to do anything on their own or does not bring any creativity and newness. In my opinion, individual deciding to some extent is good but at the same time involving others' opinions will lead to better decision-making. I am better at decision-making now than when I was 18 because of my experiences of failures in decision-making and successes too.
