Egocentrism in the textbook, describes a child's inability to see a perspective, or point of view of anyone else but their own. In the video, the child sits on one side of the table and is asked to describe what he sees. Then he is seated at a different part of the table and is asked what he sees again. However, an additional question asks what the other person sees using pictures to represent different perspectives. Piaget's idea of egocentrism is perfectly described by the child's answer, to which he responds by choosing the picture that still describes HIS point of view, rather than the other person.

"If You Hit a Glass With a Feather, Would it Break?"

A child in the concrete operational stage of development (approx. 7-11 years) begin to learn common sense and logic and use it as the basis of their decision. When asked the question "If I could break glass with a feather, and a feather hits the glass, what happens to the glass?" A child in the concrete operational stage of development would respond with a firm no, since the child uses logic to combat the apparent illogical idea of feather breaking a glass. However, if a child in the formal operational stage of development (approx, 12 years and up) is asked the same question, they will accept the rules of the illogical situation, but of course with a little relunctancy. :)
