In this chapter, two big things happen that mostly changed everyone's lives. The first one was that Isabel's mom was just in labor, and very soon was going to give birth to her baby brother. The other one, was that unfortunately Ivan died, he was bitten by sharks just before they arrived into Florida, everyone tried to save him but there was nothing left to do.

In this chapter, after they have been in Greece for a couple of days, Mahmoud's mom kept on searching for Hanna, she was extremely desperate, she looked everywhere and Mahmoud even helped her because he thought it was all this fault, but still, they didn't find her anywhere. After that, they needed to aboard a ferry, that was very big, so big that it was able to take most Syrian immigrants. But the problem was, that tourists went on the boat too, and they weren't happy about having praying refugees on their trip.

During this chapter, a lot of events happen, but I believe two are the most important ones. The first circumstance, was when, after they've arrived to Havana, Cuba didn't let anybody in, they weren't allowing refugees anymore which made everyone angrier and desperate to find a new place where to go. That's why, the captain said that he was going to try to get into the United States for better opportunities, although he wasn't sure it was going to work out, which made their next destination more unknown. In spite of that, Josef's father was staying in a hospital due to his actions, and even if Josef wanted to go back with him, he couldn't. Now, his mother, sister and him were on the boat, with still a chance to get a better life, even though it wasn't assured.
