Performers wore very detailed costumes and skits were about modern life. <br><br>3.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Japan allowed Christian missionaries in because they wanted to be able to purchase goods from them. Christians were trying to convert people to believe in Christianity and it worked, so the city of Tokugawa were upset. The Shogun came to clear all Christianity, by 1612. The domination of Christianity kept going up and down during this time. After, the Shogun banned all Christianity. He swept all European missionaries out of the country and every Japanese had to declare that they believed in some type of Buddhism.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Japan closed their boarders by 1639, and remained closed for over 200 years. They didn't allow Europeans to enter and they didn't allow Japanese to leave. The only place they traded with was Nagasaki.The Tokugawa shogun controlled Nagasaki. Nagasaki is known for its volcanoes, islands, historic buildings and for being the only main entrance port during the time of isolation for Japan. </div>]]></description>
