I learned the steps of the inquiry process. I also learned that the there are many inquiry processes in a inquiry unit. I was amazed by the video of the second grade inquiry unit. I am still wondering about different classroom management ideas to help implement this into my classroom.

I learned that post-its, index cards, readings, and personal journals are important materials to have in an inquiry classroom. I also learned that in order to teach a student, I need to know at least 10 things about his/her life. I am still wondering how I can maximize my classroom space to incorporate inquiry learning and collaboration.

I learned that it's okay for the investigations to be lengthy. I also learned that it really can work at any grade level. I was amazed by all of the resources available. I am still wondering if each of your students keep a binder or a folder that holds all of their research/materials and how you have them organize it.

I learned that the teacher's role is more of a facilitator. I also learned that it is helping the students along a process of discovery - helping them learn how to learn. I was amazed that it fits in so well with growth mindset and the math practices. I am still wondering how to get this started in my classroom: setting up the physical space, establishing routines and expectations, letting go of the traditional role.

I learned that inquiry based learning is similar to Montessori but in small groups. I also learned the inquiry process "WISE" (wonder, investigate, synthesize, express). I was amazed that 2nd graders did those matter projects! I am still wondering about how to use inquiry as a tool with behavior intervention.
