"Eyes and brains to the dotard lethargic and dull" (15). Seemingly, the shark and the Pilot fish have nothing in common, yet they need each other. The Pilot fish has the brains and guides the shark. The shark follows and serves as though he is a bodyguard to the fish. They work together to survive and are friends.

Moby Dick

"Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hat's sake I spit my last breath at thee." These were the last words Ahab said to Moby Dick. I believe that he knows that he wont be able to kill Moby Dick and that he will not survive this, but his bizarre need for vengeance pushed him to chace after the whale.

"Earth, that nourish'd thee, shall claim thy growth, to be resolved to Earth again, and, lost each human trace, surrendering up thine individual being, shalt thou go to mix for ever with the elements" (22-26). When thoughts of death come into your mind, go to Mother Nature. With her healing voice and open skies. There, you will realize that you should not be afraid of death because it is all around us. When you pass away you will be able to return to Mother Nature and forever live on with the elements. I thought of the movie Avatar and how they were able to connect with the Earth.

"A settled apathy,a gradual wasting away of the person, and frequent and although transient affections of a partially cataleptical character were the unusual diagnosis" (166). Her grotesque appearance almost makes her seem like a zombie. I drew a girl without a nose or a mouth because her senses were lost and she seemed to have a deathlike rigidity . Seeing such a thing would send terror through my veins, but I visualize her as a beautiful girl.

Dr. Heidegger's Expirament

"The Fountain of Youth, is overshadowed by several gigantic magnolias, which, though numberless centuries old, have been kept as fresh as violets by the virtues of this wonderful water" (142). I think the water from the fountain of youth, though supernatural, only lets those who are virtuous keep the effects of its water. The butterfly who chose to live a better life got its life back. Nonetheless, Dr. Heidegger's friends who did not listen to his warnings to try to live a better life did not get that chance to restart their lives. The principle they should have learned is to live to the fullest with lots or virtue.
