The protagonist in the book "Orphan Train" is Molly Ayer. She's a seventeen year old girl who was recently adopted into a family. Her foster parents are Ralph and Dina. Her biological father died and her mother got sent to jail. Molly gets into trouble with the law for stealing a book and to not get sent to juvie, she needs to do community service. Her boyfriend Jack got her to clean an old lady Vivian's attic for community service hours. Molly dresses very goth like. I feel like she definitely put up a wall from being an Orphan.

The Antagonist, Vivian struggles with moving on from her past from being an orphan. She is a 91 year old woman. Vivian was an orphan and went through a lot of similar things Molly went through. Through out the book you can see how Molly is able to relate to Vivian and how Vivian helps Molly with overcoming her past. Vivian helps the protagonist with overcoming her past and with being able to gain trust for just people in general. The conflict is clearly man vs. self. Both main characters struggle with overcoming their pasts.
