April 6th 2023

Hi and welcome to my blog! This blog is going to talk about my music taste, concerts, and my journey in (hopefully) creating music. First, I'll link my spotify so you can check out my music in further depth. Now I'll sort a little bit of my music into categories (you may notice some overlap), so you can see examples of what I like and decide if you'll stick around. I hope that this blog can introduce you to new music that you may like as well. Another thing I hope this blog helps you see (even though I won't mention it much) Is to not bully people because of the music they like because that's stupid and mean. >:(

Calm/sad:

Artists:
- Ricky Montgomery
- Duster
- The Aubreys (mostly)
- Cavetown
- Mac DeMarco
- Mitski
- Swallowscope

Songs:
- Where is my Mind? by the pixies
- The Moss by Cosmo Sheldrake
- Waves by Calpurnia
- Mrs. Magic by Strawberry Guy
- Jubilee line

indie rock vibes:

artists:
- Lovejoy
- Mother Mother
- Arctic monkeys
- Idk How But They Found Me (sort of)
- The Front Bottoms
- Paramore
- Tame Impala
Songs:
- Romance is boring by Los Campesinos
- Money by The Drums
- Harness your Hopes by Pavement
- Twin sized Mattress by the Front Bottoms
-

Alt angry:

artists:
- Destroy boys
- Mindless self indulgence
- My Chemical romance
- Anti-Flag
- Pinkshift
- Pierce The Veil
- Noahfinnce
- The Oozes

songs:
- I hate Everything About you by Three days grace
- Thanks, I hate it by the simple creatures
- shout at the devil by motley crue

70s 80s:

Artists:
- Steely Dan
- Talking heads
- Queen
- Depeche Mode
- Motley Crue
- Nirvana
- The Police
- The Eagles
- Hall and oates
- Bon Jovi
- Faith no More

Songs:
- Dancing by Myself by David Bowie
- Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling stones
- That's all by Genesis
- Shout by Tears for Fears
- no more tears by Ozzie Osbourne

Unusual/Comedy:

Artists:
- Lemon Demon
- Will Wood
- Idk How But They Found Me
- Bo Burnham
songs:
- Mothman by Dirty Bynum

Those are just some examples, with an honorable mention of musical theatre. I'm going to end each blog post with what is my current favourite song. This week, my favourite song would probably be Resale or No Offerings by the Aubreys.

concert safety/tips

When going to concerts it is important to keep certain things in mind. A helpful resource is the RAINN article, it'll explain in more depth some of the things I'll mention here. First up is hydration, it's important to bring a water bottle so that you can drink whenever needed. Trust me, it's no fun to faint at a concert. Another thing is, having a meeting place for you and your friends. Even if you have phones to communicate with, sometimes they won't work so have a place you can meet if separated. If permitted consider bringing safety equipment such as pepper spray (if legal) or a personal alarm, etc. Things that could deter attackers. Also, what's not said in the article that I think is helpful is a SMALL bag that has a double close, and to pack it with only the essentials. Don't put anything in your back pockets, and keep your bag close. It's important to be aware of your surroundings, and cover your drinks, so they can't get spiked. Ultimately have fun but keep your safety in mind!!
For the favourite song of the week, let's say love from the other side by fall out by or first love/late spring by Mitski.

My experience

I have always wanted to do something significant to help people, anything, but I could never decide what. Do I want to be an actor? An author? Now I think that one great way to help people is to provide them with great music that is heartfelt, real, and relatable while sounding good. So many artists have helped me so much so I want the next generation to have something to fall back on like I did, even if I'm not famous.
How am I going to achieve this? You ask. Well, I have lots of talented friends that feel the same way, who all play instruments and sing. I can sing as well and I play bass guitar. While I don't have lots of experience, I'm ready to learn and grow as I continue my lessons. I'll try and update this as my journey progresses.
For my favourite song of the week, I'll say Ain't it Fun by Paramore or Where's the Revolution by Depeche Mode. And remember to look for Cat Infection on your music platform this fall!
