- This week, the students have been consolidating their learning of skip counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

Next week

- Next week, we will be revising the whole unit in preparation for the UNIT 1: Assessment. (Unit Assessment Week commencing 17th September.)

2. ESL

This week

- Students continued with Unit 1 - 'A day at school' Students reviewed short vowel sounds and spelled 'ch,sh,th,tch' words.

- Students reviewed phase 2 phonics. Students read and wrote about schools.

Next week

- Students will complete the unit 1 assessment on Tuesday (17/9/2024).

- Students will start with Unit 2 - Good neighbors. Students will focus on family members and different occupations around us.

- Family vocabulary: mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, sister, brother, baby sister, baby brother, aunt, uncle, cousin.

- Occupation vocabulary: Police officer, nurse, window cleaner, reporter, bus driver, firefighter, boots, jacket, helmet, mask, gloves, fire.

- Language focus: Prepositions (on, in, under, by, next to, infront of, behind, between. Present continuous tense (what are you doing? I am running)

3. SCIENCE

This week

- Students review Unit 1 topics: Plants and animals habitat, Cold and hot habitat, Parts of plants and functions,

- Vocabulary words, (mining, round, pointy, explosives, tracks, droppings, and quarry).

- Sudents finished project on taking care of the environment.

- Students write and circle names of plant parts.

Next week

- The following will happen next week: UNIT 1 : UNIT TEST (September 25-29) depending on double period schedule.

This week

- Students discussed the importance of eating healthy food and why we need food.

- We practiced to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy food. Students also learned a balanced diet, and how to create a healthy meal.they exercise.

Next week

- Students will discuss the importance of having a healthy mind and how we can work on having a healthy mind.

- Students will start their challenge 1 project. They will create a poster in class. The poster will include the different habits we need to form to help us keep healthy: exercise, eating healthy, keeping clean and healthy mind.
