Back in the 1950s, there were a few first blue babies that were developed from fatal blood disorder that led to cyanosis. The first blue baby was named Eileen Saxon. She was the first baby that had surgery on and was texted with the cure. She was only a 18-month-old, who weighed only 9 pounds, had a heart condition. Every part of her body was blue which was a sign that her ailing heart was preventing ample blood from reaching the lungs to provide enough oxygen to the rest of her body. Surgeons and medical students from Johns Hopkins crammed into the two-level viewing gallery overlooking the Halsted clinic operating room theater. The next four and a half hours will be spent operating on her.  Despite the initial success of her "blue baby" procedure, Eileen Saxon was born with far too many severe health issues to live.
