As Victor embarked on a solitary walk through the mountains to find calm and reflect, he noticed a figure moving rapidly across the ice. While approaching it, he recognized the figure as his own creation, leading to a charged and intense discussion between them.

Victor Frankenstein

We selected Johnny Depp because his physical appearance aligns closely with our vision of Frankenstein. His messy hair gives the impression that it hasn't been cut in a while, and his moustache meets our imagination of Victor's looks. Besides, he has played roles such as the Madhatter in which he has demonstrated an ability to play characters with a certain physiological complexity.

The Creature

We selected Jason Momoa because he brings over an aggressive appearance. We have chosen this actor because he has a towering build and an imposing physique. However, while conveying apparent strength and brutality, he has still demonstrated in previous roles, that he has the ability to transmit vulnerability, depth and complexity. We believe this characteristic to be essential in order to portray the monster. In addition, his background in action roles could come in handy in the movie, as they often describe how he runs fast and climbs the mountains...

We have chosen these clothes because, although Victor is described as a mess, we still envision him as a 16th-century English nobleman,hence, the elegant attire. However, to convey his tired and anxious attitude, we have also added dark circles, uncombed, slightly long hair, and uncombed facial hair.

How it all comes together

We chose clothing similar to Victor’s, envisioning that when the scientist first imagined giving life to his creation, he would have dressed him in ordinary clothes. However, we used AI to make the clothes appear torn, shredded, and dirtied, reflecting the idea that the monster has not changed them since his creation. As for makeup, we aimed to give the monster an unhealthy appearance, caused by malnutrition and failing organs, as his parts lack matching DNA and were once lifeless. His eyes have a yellowish tone and dark rings, and he has a variety of scars, given that his body parts were sewed together... We also imagine his skin to be dirty with mud, and his hair to be greasy and long. We imagined using prosthesis to make his face look asymmetrical, as it would if it were composed of different peoples faces.

The Mont blanc

We chose this specific mountain to be the place were the two actors encounter as it is the most imposing mountain in the region, and we believe it adds intensity to the scene, and increases the sense of mystery.

Chamonix

This is actually the town that is mentioned in this scene of the book. Therefore, we thought it would be best to use this setting as direct inspiration.

We also imagine the monster to run towards Frankenstein, and to cross a giant frozen lake. We believe it would be nice to add an animation were it looks like the ice is breaking under the weight of the imposing creature.

Wind and snow

To add intensity to the scene, we thought that we could include heavy winds and a bit of snow to simulate a little snowstorm while the characters meet and fight.

We chose the Main Title from "the Shinning" by Wendy Carlos and Rachel Elkind because it creates a tension that reflects the feelings of hate and impotence that Victor must have felt towards the creature. It also isn't a very extravagant song and it would leave space for the dialogue that happens during this scene.
