It has man-made structures such as housing, temples, city walls, and much more. During Ancient China these were usually made of wood, with more important buildings such as temples having more intricate designs, and roofs with tiled stones. The people living by these rivers took advantage of the fertile soil for farming, and naturally created fields designated for farming grains like rice and millet. Humans would hunt creatures such as deer, tigers and bears for food sources as well. An example of this is through the Silk Road. The Silk Road was a major trading route that spanned from China to Europe. Some of China's most important exports included tea, salt, sugar, spices, porcelain, and most importantly silk. cotton, ivory, wool, gold, and silver were imported. Usually items brought to and from places on the silk road were less common, rarer items. As people came and went, so did ideas too. Ancient China was a rather Isolated place, surrounded by the Gobi Desert to the north, and the Taklamakan Desert to the west. Towards the south and southeast were the Himalayan mountains. The Yangtze river has an overall warm climate and has frequent rainfall. As for natural disasters, flooding can happen if not prevented by irrigation, a system that the Chinese did use. Some vegetation near the river includes bamboo, and lotus blossoms, which can be used as a source of food. Some landforms around the Yangtze are mountains, hills, plains, and basins. If we are talking about China as a region some there are characteristics shared throughout. Most of China is in the temperate zone in regards to climate, the most common vegetation throughout is bamboo, pine trees, willow trees, and plum blossoms. China has earthquakes, floods,  typhoons, and drought.
