The conflict of this song is that many women might feel pressure from society to be perfect like the role models they see. Women might also feel like they have to be at the expectation that men and women have on them. In the song Selena keeps saying "Who says", this represents that she is trying to say that no one is telling women that they aren't beautiful. Since women see that other women have different qualities they believe they aren't beautiful. The resolution of the song is that a person must have a positive mindset about themselves in order to feel beautiful. They must always think positive that they could do anything they put their mind to and don't have to be exceeding anyone's expectations.

I identify with this song because sometimes I compare myself to other girls and feel like I'm not enough. I see that they have features that I don't and I begin to feel insecure. Then I remember that I have to be confident in who I am because I can always grow and change as I grow up. I know that I am beautiful no matter how I look.
