         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Reading: opens so many doors and a huge barrier if not strong.<br>2. Writing: necessary skill for life<br>3. Maths: basic skills absolutely necessary. Advanced maths debatable.<br>4. Social Studies/The Arts: Learning about our society and human interaction important for social growth.<br>5. Science: Understanding the world and how scientists constantly inquire.<br><br>Pedagogy:<br>Explicit with Visuals Arts LIs. Not so much with others. Probably not enough time spent on any of them.<br><br>PD:<br>Would like to have some "bitesize" lesson ideas to include all of the arts in a week. Very clear goals and LIs that are achievable for students. Different ways to approach than Plays, productions, cultural festival, arts exhibitions, which are very "Product-based"<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>At the moment my main focus is on reading writing and maths. This is due to the focus on the NS.  I also spend at least 2 afternoons per week on VA. The other areas tend to be fitted in other curriculum areas or in very short random chunks during the day.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>More PD with outside expertise.&nbsp;<br><br>More hands on experiences for staff during TOD skills to the one we had in the Botanical Gardens in 2011.<br><br>We use the NZC AO's for our unit plans for VA. The other areas are not formally planned for.&nbsp;<br><br>Having a arts focus week each term focusing on one of the Arts areas. This would be school wide and carried out at the same time. Similar concept t book week. <br><br><br></div>]]></description>
