- The scenography you have seen :

The everlasting production "O" by Cirque du Soleil weaves an aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism, and theatrical romance. "O" pays homage to the beauty of the theatre - from the simplest street performance to the most lavish of operas - where anything is possible and the drama of life plays out before our very eyes. A breathtaking experience is created by elite acrobats, synchronised swimmers, divers, and characters performing in, on, and above water. Only at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

- Functions of scenography :

Scenography is the art of coordinating and controlling space to achieve the goals of the performance, which serves as the framework within which events take place. Scenography, in other words, is a representation of theatrical space and its formation through the use of a series of audio and visual signs to clarify the meanings of the dramatic text.

- The components of scenography :

Costume, props, set, make ups and lightings.

- The techniques used :

One of the most evocative aspects of a Cirque du Soleil production is the lighting. This custom-built theatre for "O" employs 2,000 lighting instruments to create colourful illusions such as a two-masted ship floating between "sky" and "water." The design team was tasked with providing power and protection to all of the lighting control systems, stage equipment.

- The space / stage / performance areas :

This is one instance where it is hard to separate the theatre design from the production itself, as the success of both revolves around the pool. The design is like a European opera house, with arched loges and warm gold, red, and blue tones. The focal point of the theatre is its elliptical domed ceiling, which Crete describes as "translucent."

- Scene transitions :

In the lighting booth, there are two automation consoles. The lighting cues, rotating mechanical carousel, and stage platforms are all precisely controlled in the control booth.

- Scenic design :

Created O, a water-themed stage production. O was inspired by the "infinity and elegance of water's pure form," which pays homage to the theater's beauty.

CLASS ACTIVITY FOR SUBJECT SINOGRAPHY
1. THE SCENOGRAPHY YOU HAVE SEEN?
- This scenography is symbolic. Where, this staging depicts the setting with an implied meaning.
- It also places scenography in the form of fantasy, where it gives space to their scenographers in creating a background that has a purpose and function of the staging plot.
2. FUNCTIONS OF SCENOGRAPHY?
- To illustrate the content of the implied meaning they act on stage.
- To depict aggressiveness, calmness and uniqueness to the audience because it is equipped with a variety of implicit content in this performance.
3. THE COMPONENTS OF SCENOGRAPHY?
- The design is like a pirate ship in the middle of the big ocean.
- The design of the middle of the stage is placed with the design of a very large pool filled with water to depict a large ocean.
- The lighting also uses blue for the large water set and the light is cast on the main actors on stage who are dancing.
4. THE TECHNIQUES USED?
- This cinematographer uses a symbolic technique that is meant to convey implicit content and a fantasy form that means the creation of a background shape that has a functional meaning that is effective for the audience. This is because the actors on the stage give a confusing picture to the audience and the stage is filled with large sets and props that have an implied meaning.
5. THE SPACE/ STAGE/ PERFORMANCE AREA?
- The use of the stage is very large because the actors use a lot of the space provided and blocking between the actors also does not occur.
- Actors actually use it in the use of the stage because it is very large and can be used very unique and interesting.
6. SCENE TRANSITIONS?
- The actors changed the scene where in the first scene, some of the main actors dance on the ship with a dance style that has its own hidden meaning.
- Meanwhile, in the middle scene, the actors play their own roles, where there are actors walking below and actors above dancing with a dance style that has its symbol.
- In this staging, it doesn't explicitly see the scene transition because it is symbolic with an implied meaning.
7. SCENIC DESIGN?
- The set design is amazing because they use and create a stage that is so great for the audience to look at, even the audience will wonder how they created and built it so well and complete with the use of great actors, bright lighting that works for every side of the stage, appropriate clothing for their staging performance, songs and audio that are very appropriate to the theme of this staging and the choreography that is produced is very unique by producing a staging show with full of implied meaning.

The scenography you have seen
• scenic design – the first scene is the ship and water (like in the sea). The villagers who were on the pier were mesmerized by the sight of the ship. The atmosphere in the sea.
• lighting design - white, blue, orange. The laser is red. Smoke
• sound design – simple music with soft singing
• costume design – clothes like xtrays that show bones, red shirts like ship people.
- Princess dress and red dress for horse rider. There are also yellow village people's clothes.
- Black clothes like a shaman.
- Zebra clothes
- The white dancer's dress shows the dancer as if in a circus.

Functions of scenography
• scenic design – to show the atmosphere of a ship in the ocean. I feel that people who swim are likened to fish. A horse on the water is likened to a canoe or a jetski because there is only one rider. The atmosphere in the sea is like a fish.
• lighting design – to highlight everything the actors have in terms of makeup, clothes and the weather at that time. Smoke is used to indicate cold or foggy weather.
• sound design - this music is to give the actors singing songs according to the beat to make it look smooth.
• costume design – separates the nobility and the working class of the crew.
- The clothes of princesses, horse riders and villagers clearly show the degree of separation between them.

The Components of scenography
• Lighting – various types of lighting are used to attract the interest of the audience.
• Sound – only simple music paired
• Set – ship, water, umbrella, horse
• costume design - clothes that are very suitable to highlight the character shown

The techniques used
• In this "Cirque du Soleil" performance, singing and dancing techniques are used like musical theater performances. This can attract the audience to see this theater. The dance shown clearly separates the aristocracy and the poor.
• Animal costumes such as zebras play a very good role and Techniques are shown like those animals.

The space/stage/performance area(s)
• The space used is very large because there are various places shown. But we can see that the space used for the water pool is quite large so the actors have to play the characters around it.
• Not only that, they also take advantage of the space available in the air by making the characters play in the air.

Scene transition
• scene 1 (ship) to scene 2 (horse) changes with the opening of the curtain behind the stage. This shows that scene 2 is related to scene 1.
• Scene 3 appears when the shaman and zebra come out of the side curtain.
• Scene 4 appears when the lights are turned off and red lighting appears.
• The final scene appears just wiping the stage and all the characters appear when the lights are turned on.

Scenic design
- The scene design is played a lot in water areas like in the ocean. A background like a lake is shown to explain the very lively atmosphere of Once upon a time in the sea environment.
- This theater also shows the atmosphere in the forest because there are animals like zebras.
- The last scene shows like a circus with various dances shown.

As example lighting (in and out) can be the instruction as a starter for a show.

The components of scenography are sets, prop, make ups, lighting, costumes, music and choreography. Based on the video, they use water and a sailing boat mock up as the sets. Then, there are costumes a lot such as gown, dancer costumes, and something based on their own character. They use bright and classic colors for the make ups. They also use umbrella as a prop. A man bring an umbrella as a prop on a scene. Next, they also use music background on the theater. There are some choreography shown by the dancer with a perfect movements. For the lighting, they play some lighting as example red, blue, white, and orange/yellow for the moods. This is the most important component in theatre cause lighting can be the main component as can make the performance more beautiful.

The techniques they used are music, dancing and singing techniques. The movements of the dance really sharp and the vocal for the music part also just very suits the step. Then, they also make some blocking to make sure their movements more polite.

The space/stage/performance area(s)
-they used a large space for the stage and the artist use the stage well. All the space have used for all the scenes.
-the stage they build very flexible and ease the artist bring their characters.

The scene transition that have in the performance is when a scene changed. They use lighting to make it changed as example from the light to the dark then starts a new scene. After that they use lighting to change the day and night scene. It is so creative and good idea.

The scene design is they acting a scene like they are at a sea on the sailing boat while doing some movements dan dance.

SPOTLIGHT ON "O" | Cirque du Soleil

1. The scenography you have seen
- This theatre performance is inspired by aquatics which is a concept of pure water forms. As this theater includes talents of swimmers, divers, and acrobats, so, it makes sense they use architectural techniques in this theatre show as it include many purposes such as safety, sturdiness of props and sets and so on.

5. The space / stage / performance area(s)
- Space usually related to stage. This stage "O" show made of the Mando flooring. The floor is separated into for sections and each placed on top of four large scissor lifts. The lifts can quickly and smoothly drop from inches above water to the bottom of the pool 17 feet below, deep enough for a high diver to jump in from 60 feet in the air.

6. Scene transitions
- The transitions in this theatre show used curtains and lighting. As the example a huge red curtains used for the opening and white curtain used for the closing of the show. Other than that, there are also few of scene change used lighting to start a new scene.

7. Scenic design
- Inspired by the infinity and the elegance of water's pure form include surrealism and theatrical romance.

Represents the malevolent side of the water.

- The Bikers : A group of energetic characters performing the aerial hoop act.number

4) The technique used

One of the world's leading live entertainment businesses, Cirque du Soleil are constantly using technology in and around their shows. amaluna has fully programmed keyboards accompany live vocalists, digital soundboards edit instrument voicing, stage lighting is timed, and hydraulics lift massive props.

5) The space/stage/ performance area

- Inspired by the concept of infinity and the elegance of water's pure form, "O" pays tribute to the beauty of the theatre - from the simplest street performance to the most lavish of operas - where anything is possible and where the drama of life plays itself out before our very eyes.

- It’s a 1.5 million gallon pool with a stage that can raise and lower within the pool to have a high-diver slipping into the water just to have another performer walking “across the water” just a few seconds later. An amazing technological feat.

6) Scene transition

I see the gymnasts balancing a performer by her hand. This performance also makes use of a 17-foot-deep tank filled with 1.5 million gallons of water, as well as technological work to ensure the success of this theatre production.

2. Scenography function
- Serves as a narrative sequence that is clearly communicated to the audience who watches the show.
- There is a musical opera that paints the setup with a line of dancers in the centre of the stage performing the major function in the play by managing each place in the setup.

3. The Components of scenography
- Set
consists of a ship, water, umbrella, and a horse.
- Costume design
clothing that is ideal for highlighting the character shown
- Music
simple music matched with
- Lighting
Various sorts of lighting are employed to pique the audience's interest.

4. The techniques used
- This cinematography employs a symbolic approach aimed to transmit implicit meaning and a fantasy form, which requires the production of a background shape with an audience-friendly, practical meaning. This is happening because the stage is crowded with big sets and implied-meaning items, and the actors on it present a confusing picture for the audience.

5. The space and stage performance
- The "O" stage is divided into four sections and is supported by four enormous scissor lifts. It is built of Mondo flooring (the kind used at track meets).
- A high diver might plunge in from 60 feet in the air thanks to how rapidly and elegantly the lifts can descend from just inches over the water to the pool's bottom, which is 17 feet below.
- As this massive stage sinks into the pool, water is passing through thousands of holes drilled across the surface, and it all seems so effortless from inside the theatre.

6. Scene transitions
- The crew are in charge the show is by inside the lighting control booth. The entire show is controlled by two automation consoles in the lighting booth, which manage almost every aspect of the production save the performers themselves.
-The plot revolves around a little child who embarks on an enthralling voyage through a mystical watery world.

1. The scenography I saw based on the video is that this performance is water themed with aquatic elements.

2. Functions of scenography are to attract the interest of the audience watching, to avoid any blocking from the actors, and to balance the movements of the actors.

3. The components of scenography are sound, set, lighting, and costume. In terms of sound in the video, they balanced the sound of each action performed. The sound used follows every movement of the actors. As for the set, they use the stage completely. The stage is filled with several props. The stage also does not look so bushy with the props available. In terms of lighting, they use lighting with various colors such as blue, red, yellow and orange, contrasting with the costumes of the actors and they play a lot of lighting in this performance. They use costumes that match the lighting so that they can be seen by the audience. In addition, they use various clothes such as dresses, aquatic clothes, animal costumes and clowns.

4. The techniques used by them is that they balance their movements while on the prop.

5. They use the stage as best as possible. This is because the stage is so big, they completely fill the available space and also avoid obstacles from other performers.

6. The transition scene used in this theater is that they use lighting to change the next scene.

7. Scenery design in the theater about nature because each one presented, they have all the characters of life on this earth.
