A story about love and magic, the good against the bad and the fight the opposition of the family tradition. The Swan Lake it's a ballet inspired in the german story The Stolen Veil by Johann Karl August Masaus. The first presentation was in Bolshoi Theater of Moscu the 4th of march of 1877 with the music of Piotr Ilich Tchaikovski and the choreography of Julius Reisinger. Because of the music that was written first that the ballet, the first presentation had a lot of bad critics. Many companies have adapted through the years this book. In this blog I will write about how the principal characters stand out of the others and without saying a dialog the story can be interpreted perfectly, how the scenography its really well done and the effects of the music.

How i said before, the main characters are distinguished of the secondary characters. The first scene is about the party of the prince Siegfried and you can recognize really fast who is the prince because of his white with blue attire and the other people in the party brought opaque colors like different tones of brown. The Queen is using a big crown so you can see that she is the queen and the jester is wearing the classic costume of jester The first time that Von Rothbart appears, you can perceive the bad vibes only with his clothes because he was wearing big black wings and he was the only man that had makeup, his makeup was mainly black like the other parts of his attire. When Odette made her first appears she is wearing a white dress like the other swans, so you can get confused, but if you look closely you can see that Odette is wearing a tiny crown that make the differences with the other swans. The characters don't have dialogues and only with the movements, the music and the ecenary, you can understand what's going on.

This is one of the most importants things in a ballet that is based on a book or story, it is the thing that helps you to understand what part of the story is going on and gave the ballet a magic effect; the scenography. In this ballet I saw that the scenography looked like if it was painted and have another little stuff like shuberry, glasses and another little things that the characters had that helps you to recognize. This ballet had a really special effect that in my opinion were very creative and helpful, they used projections, an example is when Odile is dancing with the prince and Odette walk into the party and saw them, normally in the ballets the girl that makes the paper of Odette is the same girl that make the paper of Odile, so they put a projections of Odette dancing while the dancer changes of Odile to Odette.

Also I was shocked with the music, i'm not sure if the orchestra was live but as I listen to it I realized that maybe was a track by the way that sound. Tchaikovsky made a really beautiful work and helps a lot, apart of the dance, to understand what is going to happen because of the intensity of some parts, like when Robdarth was to appear, the music sound like faster, darker and you hear more the violins. With the sound you can tell if its a happy, sad, or bad scene. It's really difficult to do a choreography based in the music because you have to search that all the dancers are synchronized to the rhythm of the music.

This story reminded me about a lot of moves that I seen or stories that I read like Romeo and Juliet that tells a story about a couple that cant be together because of their families so they 🤬 themselves so they could be happy forever or The Hunger Games, in this movie the main characters they were ready to commit 🤬 because they don't want to 🤬 each other, at the end the couple survive; both of this stories have a relationship with The Swan Lake because this three couples wants to be together but for some reason they can't and they think that their only option is to commit 🤬.

In conclusion the story of The Swan Lake is very interesting and have a long story of how become so important to the ballet, the story and the dancing are very beautiful, im a person who doesn't like the ballet but when I saw this one, this sack my artistic side and makes me want to go to see one someday. I was really impressed about the dancing, the scenography and maybe I may fall in love with that.
