    *Collaboration (all combinations of teacher and student) was evident, embraced and successful. Provided richly integrated learning that allowed for differentiation on a variety of levels.
    *Coteaching in the classroom helped support rigour and language acquisition. Provided a supportive environment to all students to achieve their potential.     ·      Learning is about making connections between different forms of knowledge 
    ·      The content (what we want students to know), the context (the environment that support student learning) and teaching practices ( the practices  that the teacher is implementing  in her/ his teaching to support students’ learning ) are equally important factors of students’ success. 
    The content:  
    ·      Learning occurs when new knowledge connects meaningfully with students’ personal narratives through which they make sense of life. 
    ·      Learning occurs when teaching is focusing on students’ thinking rather than providing information 
    ·      Students transfer knowledge and apply what has been learnt in new situations when they are able to organize information in a conceptual framework 
    ·      Students become active learners when the content is meaningful and their knowledge is connected and organized around important concepts 
    The context: 
    ·      Learning comes through the interdependence of teacher and children 
    ·      Students are learning when they are in an environment where they feel safe to share their formative thoughts. To do so, the environment should be inclusive and respectful to every student identity. 
    ·      Learning is supported when the environment promotes the social nature of learning. Students are learning faster and gain deeper understanding through collaboration and interaction with others. 
    The practice: 
    ·      Reflective teaching leads to assessment for knowledge and personalized learning 
    ·      Scaffolding technics in teaching supports students to develop their understanding, expand their thinking skills and learn how to learn 
    ·      Teachers who model their own thinking support students to develop effective strategies on how to use their minds and acquire knowledge.
     
    2. The PYP program and the Reggio philosophy are following the social cognition approach to learning and are align with these learning principles.
