Rich purposeful learning happens when...
1. We treat people with respect; presume positive intentions with an open frame of mind.
2. Origins constructs a 'Culture of Achievement' in school environments where students 'wonder, explore, connect and create' to become active participants in their community and the world.
3. We create a culture of collaboration through open, safe discussion and a non-judgmental approach.
4. We encourage and inspire creativity and innovation through learning by making.
5. The curriculum is one that follows the child. It begins with the children: what they are interested in, what excites them, what they are capable of, and how they learn.
6. We model life-long learning. eg "Great creative people are not accidents, but they are deliberatively cultivated and supported" (Yong Zhao p152, World Class Learners)
7. Student differentiation, exploring and discovering strengths, passions and talents is paramount.
8. We cultivate thinkers.
