The risk was that they took a loan from a bank to afford the school fees in Singapore. They needed to work harder to pay back the money. There was also a risk of me not performing well in Singapore.

  Belt and Road Initiative is a massive infrastructure project that would stretch from East Asia to Europe. The key projects of the Belt and Road Initiative is the 12000km railway connected from London to China's city Yiwu. There are at least 68 countries and international organizations have signed on to projects. Such an investment can benefit the whole world as the trade network is wider and more convenient, and it can lift billions of people out of poverty.

   China definitely gets the greatest benefit from it. As the trade network becomes wider, the international use of the Chinese currency increase dramatically. Also, the purpose of the project is to avoid the so-called middle-income trap. On the other hand, the US is not involved in the project and they worry that China’s rising power and will overtake their position.

Think - What do you think is the significance of COE and ERP in car ownership?
1. The use of COE  has been effective in controlling the growth of vehicle population.
2. The use of ERP replaces the current Electronic Road Pricing system and vehicles do not stop or slow down to pay tolls which makes the charging more convenient.
3. When there is a reduction of vehicles on the road, it will be more efficient use of our roads, smoother flowing traffic and less pollution.

Wonder - How successful has COE been in achieving its goal?
1. the annual growth rate was reduced from 3% to 0.25% from 2009 to 2017. Will the next generation give up car ownership in the future ?
2. Within the restricted zone itself, traffic has gone down by about 13% during ERP operational hours, with vehicle numbers dropping from 270,000 to 235,000. How can people deal with the peak hour if MRT, buses, and the road are crowded?

Those points above prove telling truths is necessary. Telling truths indeed lower the possibility for conflicts to happen between people. This will help us to avoid arguments and maintain our relationship with others. Therefore, I argue that telling truths in some situations may be the best thing to do.

The essay above indicates the good influences brought by music. The lyrics in songs bring us a better ability of empathy and we can be inspired by that and stay strong.
