Once upon a time, a princess named Snow White lived in a castle with her father, the King, and her stepmother, the Queen. Nothing is more important than to be fair.”

The Queen, Snow White’s stepmother, knew how much this meant to her husband.

A beautiful but orphaned princess, Snow White, lives with her stepmother, the wicked Queen, who previously relegated her to servitude. The Queen is jealous because she wants to be known as "the fairest in the land" when Snow White's beauty surpasses her own. A prince passes by, hearing Snow White's singing, and falls immediately in love with her and her beauty. Witnessing this, the Queen summons her loyal huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and kill her, but he cannot bring himself to do so because of her innocence and beauty, and instead begs Snow White to run away into the forest and never return to the castle. The forest animals befriend Snow White and take her to a cottage, where seven dwarfs live. The dwarfs grow to love their unexpected visitor, who cleans their house and cooks their meals. But one day while the dwarfs are away at their diamond mine, the Queen arrives at the cottage disguised as an old peddler woman and persuades Snow White to take a bite of a poisoned apple, promising her it will make all her dreams come true. Snow White wishes for a reunion with the prince, takes a bite, falls into a deep sleep, and the peddler woman declares she's now the fairest in the land. The dwarfs, alerted by the forest animals, rush home to chase the witch away and she falls to her death, but they are too late to save Snow White. Thinking her dead, too, the dwarfs place Snow White in a glass and gold coffin in the woods and mourn for her. The prince, who had searched far and wide for Snow White, hears of Snow White asleep in the glass coffin and awakens her with love's first kiss. In conclusion that, the fairy tale ended well and they lived happily ever before.

This stepmother liked to look in her magical looking-glass and ask it who was the fairest in the land, to which the obliging mirror would always return the answer, ‘You, queen.’

Except that one day, when Snow White was seven years old and her beauty has surpassed her stepmother’s, the looking-glass returned the answer, when the queen asked it who was the fairest of them all, ‘Snow White is lovelier than you!’ The wicked stepmother can’t be doing with a beautiful rival, so she orders a huntsman to take Snow White out to the woods and kill her. The huntsman can’t bring himself to kill the little girl, so he merely abandons her in the forest.

Snow White wanders, lost and forlorn, through the forest until she comes to a cottage, which she enters in the hope of finding shelter. Instead, what she finds are seven places laid out for dinner, seven beds: seven of everything. She has a bit out of each of the food and drink set out at the dinner table, before trying each of the beds, until she finds one that’s comfortable, and falls asleep. Much like the situation the three bears come back to in the ‘Goldilocks’ story, the occupants of the cottage – seven dwarfs – then return from a hard day mining for gold in the nearby caves, and spot that an intruder’s been nibbling at their food.

But unlike the three bears, who are angry upon discovering a juvenile delinquent in their home, the seven dwarfs are so impressed by Snow White’s beauty that they are overjoyed to see her and leave her to sleep. In the morning she wakes and tells them her story, and they agree to let her stay with them, and look after the cottage while they go out to work.

They warn her, though, that the evil queen is bound to learn that she is still alive, and seek to kill her again. Meanwhile, the wicked stepmother’s talking mirror is busy blabbing about Snow White’s whereabouts, and when the evil queen asks it who is the fairest in the land, the bigmouthed looking-glass replies that Snow White still is, and adds where the girl can be found.

Having learned that her plan has been foiled and the girl still lives, the wicked stepmother disguises herself as a pedlar and travels to the dwarfs’ cottage, and sells the naïve Snow White some new laces for her shoes. She ties the girl’s laces so tightly that Snow White falls down, unconscious.

When the dwarfs return, they undo the laces and revive the girl, warning her to be more vigilant – they, unlike Snow White, have realised that the pedlar was the wicked queen in disguise. When the wicked queen gets home and learns from the mirror that her plan has been thwarted again, she sets off in a different disguise and convinces Snow White to take a comb as a gift. When the comb makes contact with Snow White’s black hair, she drops down again, and the wicked stepmother returns, her mission supposedly accomplished.

But once again the dwarfs manage to revive Snow White, and the wicked queen learns from the mirror that the girl is still alive. So she contrives a third plan, and sets off for the dwarfs’ cottage a third time, this time dressed as an old peasant’s wife.

Snow White is innocent, kind, gentle, sweet, and cheerful. Her generous, trusting and helpful nature can cause her trouble, as other people might take advantage of it, such as her vain and evil stepmother. She was kind and gentle and a friend to all animals Snow White is a princess who lives in a castle with her stepmother, who is a witch. The most important theme of this movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, is that true beauty comes from within. In the beginning of the movie, the mirror told the queen that she would not be the fairest because Snow White was the fairest of all. The queen was not pleased with that at all ordered her Huntsman to kill the young princess.Evil queen tries only once to kill Snow White (by a poisoned apple) and fails (this was likely to save time). She then dies by falling down a cliff and being crushed by a boulder, after the dwarfs had chased her through the forest.A year later, the prince learns of her eternal sleep and visits her coffin. Saddened by her apparent death, he kisses her, which breaks the spell and awakens her. The dwarfs and animals all rejoice as the prince takes Snow White to his castle.

One day, a Queen was sitting at a window in her castle. She was sewing with the window open, to watch the flakes of winter snow. She pricked her finger with her needle and three drops of blood fell onto the windowsill. The blood was red, the snow was white, the windowsill was black.
‘I wish I had a daughter with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony,’ said the Queen.
Sometime later, the Queen gave birth to a little girl, who she named Snow White. But sadly, the Queen died giving birth and Snow White was left without a mother.
The King soon married again. His new wife was very beautiful, but she was also a witch. The new Queen also had a magic mirror. Every morning, she asked the mirror the same question: ‘Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’ Every morning, the mirror told the Queen that she was the fairest of them all. For years, the Queen was content, but one day, when Snow White was seven years old, the Mirror said that the princess was now fairer than the Queen.
The Queen couldn’t bear it. She was so jealous and angry that she ordered a huntsman to take Snow White into the woods and kill her. She told him to return with her heart as proof of her death.
But, when the Huntsman took Snow White into the forest, he found he couldn’t bear to kill her. As he raised the knife to kill her, Snow White begged for her life. She promised to run far away and never return to the castle again. Reluctantly, as he was very scared of the Queen, the Huntsman agreed and killed a wild animal instead, so he could present the Queen with its heart.

Snow White walked through the forest for hours. Finally, she came to a small cottage. The door was unlocked, so she stepped inside. Everything in the cottage was small, and there were seven of everything. Snow White was very hungry, thirsty, and very tired. She ate some of the food, drank some of the wine and tucked herself up in one of the beds. She soon fell asleep.
A few hours later, she woke to find seven small men around her. The men were dwarfs, returned from a day of work in the mines. Though initially alarmed at the idea that someone had broken into their home, the dwarfs soon took pity on the little girl, when she explained her stepmother’s plan to kill her. They agreed that she could stay with them if she took on the cooking and cleaning of the cottage. Snow White was delighted.
‘One final rule,’ said the dwarfs. ‘You must be careful when alone at home. Don’t speak to any strangers, or let them in the house.’
Ten years passed. Snow White grew into a lovely, beautiful young woman, and she was getting on well with the dwarfs. The evil Queen, meanwhile, was still obsessed with the idea of her own beauty. She turned to her mirror again, and asked: ‘Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’
The mirror told her that Snow White was still the fairest of them all. The evil Queen was incensed. She thought she’d had Snow White killed ten years ago. She asked the mirror where Snow White was and, because the mirror was bound to always tell the truth, it showed her the cottage in the forest.
Having already been betrayed by the Huntsman, the Queen decided to kill Snow White herself. She set out to the cottage, disguised as an old peddler. She knocked on the door and, when Snow White answered, she showed her the beautifully laced bodices she was selling. She even offered to show Snow White how to lace them up. Snow White agreed but, as the Queen tied the laces, she pulled so tightly that Snow White couldn’t breathe and collapsed. Thinking Snow White was dead, the Queen left. But, luckily, the dwarfs returned and unlaced the bodice, just in time. Snow White took a huge gasp and was revived.
Pleased with herself, the evil Queen returned to the castle and turned to her mirror, asking: ‘Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’
‘Snow White,’ said the mirror.
Again, the Queen raged. She returned to the cottage, this time dressed up as a tradeswoman. She knocked on the door and showed Snow White a beautiful jewelled comb. She showed Snow White how to wear it but, of course, the comb was laced with poison. When the Queen tucked it into Snow White’s hair, Snow White collapsed.
Once again, the Queen was convinced that she’d killed Snow White and fled back to the castle. But, when the dwarfs returned home, they removed the comb from Snow White’s locks, and she revived.
The Queen asked her mirror: ‘Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’
‘Snow White,’ said the Mirror.
The Queen was livid. One final time, she made her way to the cottage. This time, she was dressed as a farmer’s wife. She knocked on the door and offered Snow White an apple. To make Snow White feel more comfortable about taking a bite, she cut the apple in half. The evil Queen took the green half and offered Snow White the red half.
‘You see?’ said the Queen, taking a bite. ‘It’s fine.’
Snow White took a bite and, of course, the red half was poisoned. She fell to the floor and, convinced that Snow White really was dead, the Queen fled back to the castle.
The dwarfs returned to the cottage and found Snow White lying on the floor. This time, nothing they did could revive her. Together, they placed her in a glass coffin outside and mourned her death.
The next day, a Prince was riding by. He came across the coffin and was struck by the beauty of the girl beyond the glass. He knocked on the door of the dwarfs’ cottage and asked for the story. The dwarfs told him all about Snow White and the witch, how they’d found Snow White lifeless on the floor for a third and final time. The Prince asked if he could take Snow White’s body back to her father’s castle, her rightful resting place. Reluctantly, the dwarfs agreed.
The Prince and his men transported the coffin through the forest. As they walked, one of his men tripped over a root and stumbled. He dropped his corner of the coffin and a piece of apple was dislodged from Snow White’s throat. Once it was free, she was magically revived.
The Prince opened the coffin and immediately asked for Snow White’s hand in marriage. She agreed and went with him to his kingdom. The Prince invited everyone in the land to their wedding.

One winter day, a queen is sewing by an ebony-framed window and looking out at the feathery snowflakes. She pricks her finger accidentally, and three drops of blood fall onto the snow. The red looks so beautiful on the white snow that the queen thinks, "If only I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the window frame."
Soon afterward the queen has a baby daughter whose skin is white as snow, cheeks red as blood, and hair black as ebony. The queen names her Snow White.
The queen dies shortly after giving birth. Within a year, the king has remarried a woman who is beautiful but vain. This new queen has a magic mirror that always tells the truth. Whenever she looks at her reflection, the Queen asks, "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest one of all?" The mirror always replies, "You, O Queen, are the fairest of all."
But Snow White is also becoming a beauty. When the child is only seven, her stepmother happens to ask the magic mirror her usual question. Instead of giving the customary answer, the mirror says, "My queen, you may be the fairest here, But Snow White is a thousand times more fair."
From then on, the queen hates her little stepdaughter. Envy and pride grow in her heart like weeds. When she can no longer bear these feelings, she summons a huntsman and orders him to take Snow White into the forest. There, he must kill her and return with her lungs and liver as proof that he has obeyed the queen.
Deep in the woods, the huntsman pulls out his knife. Weeping, Snow White begs for mercy. The huntsman relents and lets her run off, figuring she'll soon be eaten by wild animals anyway.
Conveniently, a young boar runs past the huntsman. He stabs the boar to death, removes its lungs and liver, and brings them back to the palace, where the evil queen eats them.
Snow White wanders through the forest, lost and alone. Just before nightfall, she finds a little cottage. Inside, all is spotless, dainty, and small. A little table is set with seven little plates and seven little cups; against the wall are seven little beds in a row. Snow White is so hungry that she takes a bite from each plate and drinks a drop of wine from each cup. Then she checks the beds and finds one the right size. She says her prayers and falls asleep. The little cottage belongs to seven dwarfs who mine ore and minerals in the mountains. This evening they arrive home after dark. When the dwarfs light their lanterns, they realize someone's been in the cottage. Before long they spy the sleeping girl and marvel at her beauty. They decide to let Snow White sleep through the night.
In the morning, the seven dwarfs welcome Snow White to their home and offer to let her stay if she becomes their housekeeper. They warn her not to let anyone into the house: her stepmother may still be trying to kill her.
Snow White settles into her new life, but the dwarfs are right: back at the palace, the magic mirror has again told the queen that Snow White, "with the seven dwarfs in her hideaway," is still the most beautiful female in the land.
Enraged with jealousy, the queen disguises herself as an old peddler woman and makes her way to the dwarfs' cave. There she tricks Snow White into trying on a pretty pair of lace stays, which the queen fastens so tightly that Snow White loses consciousness.
The dwarfs are horrified to find Snow White lying apparently dead. But they notice that her stays have been laced up too tightly. Once the stays are cut open, the girl recovers. The dwarfs tell her the peddler must have been her stepmother and once again warn her not to let anyone through the door.
This scenario repeats itself twice more. On her second visit, the disguised queen puts a poisoned comb into Snow White's hair. Again the dwarfs notice what's happened and revive her. On her third visit, the queen tempts Snow White with a poisoned apple. No sooner does she bite into the apple than she falls dead, and this time the dwarfs are unable to restore her to life.
Snow White looks so much like a person sleeping that the dwarfs can't bear to bury her. Instead, they make her a glass coffin that they place on a mountaintop, where they take turns standing vigil. Her body remains as fresh-looking as ever.
One day a prince finds the coffin and instantly falls in love with the motionless Snow White. He begs the dwarfs to let him have the coffin, saying he'll die himself unless he can gaze at the dead girl. "I will honor and cherish her as if she were my beloved," he assures the dwarfs, who are touched by his words and agree to let him take away the coffin.
When the prince's servants lift the coffin, they stumble momentarily. The coffin jolts, and the jolt knocks out the poisoned piece of apple that had lodged in Snow White's throat. She sits up, alive after all. Overjoyed, the prince proposes. Snow White has "tender feelings for him" by now, and they leave together for the prince's home. Whether the girl bids goodbye to the dwarfs is not mentioned.
The wedding is splendid but for one thing. The evil queen, who has once again heard that Snow White is alive, crashes the party. When she arrives, Snow White spots her at once. The queen is petrified with fear as "iron slippers [which have] already been heated for her over a fire of coals" are placed before her. The queen is made to dance in them until she drops dead.

For the sequence in which the Huntsman fails to do away with Snow White and tells her to flee into the forest, the Huntsman was first conceived as a ruthless and dangerous killer, who looked forward to his job such that his face would light up when the Queen gave him new instructions. A large amount of dialogue would have been required to explain why he could not carry out his task and what Snow White then had to do. However, it was felt that this version of the story contained too delicate acting from the characters involved,Snow White and the Huntsman is a 2012 American fantasy film based on the German fairy tale "Snow White" compiled by the Brothers Grimm. The film is the directorial debut of Rupert Sanders, with a screenplay by Evan Daugherty, John Lee Hancock and Hossein Amini, from a screen story by Daugherty. The cast includes Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, and Bob Hoskins in his final film performance. In the film's retelling of the tale, Snow White grows up imprisoned by her evil stepmother, Queen Ravenna, a powerful sorceress. After Snow White escapes into the forest, Ravenna enlists Eric the Huntsman to capture her, but he becomes her companion in a quest to overthrow Ravenna.
