         <description><![CDATA[<div>I feel that grades do help guide the students on well they are doing.&nbsp; &nbsp;I know that I have seen some students not do well with the written part of learning but can show mastery with doing a project.&nbsp; &nbsp;I also, think if the student is really interested in the subject they will be motivated without the grade.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

I think that feeling successful can make all students want to do better all the time.&nbsp;<br>In middle school, many students cannot see the big picture--how grades may affect them in the future.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I don't think grades are a huge motivator. What we may consider a "top" student yes but for kids struggling with school I don't think it is a motivator any longer. If I knew what the motivator was I would be on the talk circuit sharing my thoughts and making thousands of dollars I probably would not be sitting in the classroom.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think this is very personal, and it all depends on the kid and their value system. Too many factors go into this to be discussed, but I know kids are motivated by lots of different things.&nbsp; Grades are basically now what parents expect based on their experience as a students. I do think kids do not want their time wasted and they want to learn.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sammy here....kids are motivated by grades especially if they are in sports.&nbsp; The few that are not motivated by grades will need to be motivated by other means. Parents should be able to give teachers some hints on how to motivate their kids.</div>]]></description>
