The book Kiss the Dust is a book about a girl named Tara and her family. They live in Iraq in a small home. Living there is not easy though! Tara and her family go through many obstacles. Where they live contain secret police that arrest and/or kills families in a heartbeat. Without knowing what to do, Tara's father Soran goes far into the mountains to get away from the police. Later on, the rest of Taraś family had to go to the mountain too. There they find Soran and many challenges they have to go against. Soon they will face the worst they will ever encounter.

I dedicate my grandfather because of the stuff he went through in war. He had to face obstacles like hurricanes, weapons, and injuries. He is a strong man and made it through everything that has happened to him. Thatś why I chose him, because Tara and her famiy can make it through

Tara is the main character of my book. She is very intelligent and can achieve a lot of things. Knowing her father and family is in danger she also has some weaknesses. When Tara was walking home from school one day she seen a guy her age get shot, and that made her scream. That made her very upset and that lead to worse vibes because she didn't want that to happen to her or her family.

First, she told her father about it, and the next day he fled to the mountains. That made Tara weaker. Then, she found out that she had to run away with her family and leave her home forever, but that made Tara stronger to face her fears. After she reached the mountains, she became a better person and helped face the fear of being far away from home, and friends. Tara now heps with her mom more and deals with the weaknesses that became true in her life. That led to her strengths she has now, and that is facing the dangers from the cops.

Tara and her family had a marvelous life before the cops came. Tara walked to school every morning, and she laughed with her friends on the way there. She and her family enjoyed their time together and everything was fine. Then the secret cops started to flow into their town. They invaded everyoneś property, and soon the police invades Tara´s house. Starting with the day before Tara´s family left, the cops showed up at their door looking for Soran, the father. He wasn´t there, he was already in the mountains. Then the cops tried to break into the door and Khan, Tara´s mom, woudn´t let them. After that, the cops left and came back the next day and watched Tara´s house. Little did Tara and her family know they were going to arrest them.

As soon as Tara seen the cops, she grabbed her bags and packed her things, so did the rest of her family. Since they knew they were going to arrest them for not saying where Soran was, they had to flee far away from home. That led to the effect of where they are now. Since the dangers of the town below, they had to go into the mountains to live and soon will have to go further into them. The cops were trying to take them away from each other and maybe even kill Tara, Hero, Soran, and Khan. The secret cops led to them far away from home and will never be able to come back.

The problem of the story is that Tara is in danger of cops because they are looking for her and her family. First, they realize that its hard to face challenges ,and they try to stay away from everyone in the mountains. Tara and her family could run into a cop that is acted as a villager. To find a way to get away from the cops is difficult, but Tara can think of a way to do so. Tara thinks about a lot of ways to find a solution. After finding out about the cops, she wonders why they want her family. Can she just go far away from everything? That can lead to a long travel, but good benifits. Then, if she does go far away she can finally be away from the cops, so that could work, but what about her family? She can bring them with her. That will be the greatest solution to do, but will she do it?

The way she finds a soultion is simple.
1. She gets with her family to talk about the situation.
2. Khan, Hero, and Soran agrees that they need to do something about it.
3. She mentions her idea about fleeing far away.
4. Her family disagrees, but Tara finds a better solution.
5.Tara mentions their cousin that lives in the mountains.
6. They gather their things to travel there.
7. They travel there and finally reaches their destination.
8. They live with their cousin for awhile to stay away from the outside world.

What I learned about Kiss the Dust is that you can overcome a lot of challenges. Even though Tara and her family went through a lot they got over it and led to a better life. By telling you about the story, I went through Expository writing. I dislike it because of all the things you have to tell about a story or novel. It gets difficult to tell the reader about what´s going on in my perspective of reading it. The entries felt as if I was talking about the same thing over and over again, but I had to get the point across. In the long run I enjoyed talking and learning more about the book myself.
