For this assignments you will be randomly assigned to groups or “law firms.” Each group will submit one assignment. Each student independently will submit the group assessment form.

In both Whose Monet and The Study of Law, the authors provide an actual complaint and an answer. In both cases, the plaintiff filed in the federal court. Redraft those complaints as if they were going to be filed in the California state court system (assume the CA course has jurisdiction over the subject matter and the relevant parties). On what rules did you rely? Are there significant differences from the federal rules? Did you have all the information you needed to draft the complaint? If not, what’s missing? How do you serve the defendant? How can or must the defendant respond? Is it different under the federal rules? If so, how?

Due Date: Sunday at 11:59 PM PT.
