Some pollution prevention measures that can take place is closely monitoring the oil sites and make sure they get monthly checkup. Every two years isn’t enough. We can persuade companies to use their resources to partake in pollution prevention by showing the number of deaths they cause to marine life. We can also show that their actions can cause consequences years after their oil spill.

Some of the economic effects are huge amount of money lost due to their oil spills. They have to pay to people to properly clean up their spills. And because they harmed aquatic environment, they have to pay for their damage and the fee of their consequences from the government. The domino effect will be that other companies will get more money because no one would want to invest in a oil company that caused that much harm. Also since the marine life harmed, the quality of the fish that fishermen collect will decrease and the value would also decrease.

In addition, oil spills can damage animals' mobility. In birds, oil causes their wings to glue shut. Oil spills could cause a domino affect because one animal can be poisoned by the oil and unknowingly poison another through reproduction.

This is because they have to pay to cleanup the oil and because people remove their investments with that company. I believe that this causes a positive domino effect.

The biggest environmental effect of the oil spill is the impact to the aquatic life and and other organisms that use the water. A lot of aquatic animals can’t move and therefore become covered in oil and even the ones that can move to other parts of the ocean are impacted as they can ingest the oil. In addition to that, the water itself becomes contaminated for both the animals and humans. The organisms that are least directly affected are any animals that don't rely on any ocean life to survive and humans. Even though humans might be disrupted from going to the beach or getting in the water, it’s not a direct impact to us. For the aquatic life there is a “domino effect” because if one animal gets contaminated then they have a high chance of dying and if they die then that is eliminating a food source for other animals.

The quantity of money lost is one of the economic repercussions of oil spills. Oil spills have an impact on business operations and stock prices.

The economic effect of the oil spill is the amount of money that has to be payed for this oil to be cleaned up. A lot of the time the city has to act quick and start the clean-up which is money that they have to spend on a preventable event. The company itself also loses money if they don’t have the product that they sell. This creates a domino effect because if the city has to invest money because of the actions/mistake of a company, then that is less money for other resources in the community that might have been in line waiting to get funding from the city.

Both the oil company and the local government are responsible for the spill. The oil company is mainly responsible for the event because their system malfunction and caused the spill. However, the government is also responsible because this is not the first time an oil spill like that happens and they have failed to take legislative action to prevent it from happening it again. With this, I believe that the next steps should be passing regulation that regulates oil company, but also sets a goal to ban the fracking and extraction of oil to move into green energy sources.

The government and oil companies are at fault. Companies care so much about making money that they cheap out on oil leaks prevention methods like reinforced tanks and pipes. They are also not constantly monitoring their pipes, which causes leaks to occur for hours before being identified. The government is also responsible since they don't consistently punish companies or emphasize the dangers of oil spills. Companies should pay even greater fines and have suspensions when mistakes are made. They should also appoint individuals to constantly monitor oil flow and levels in the ocean/ tanks. This will take a lot of funding, but is crucial.

An important environmental impact of oil spills is that it kills off different species of marine life that inhabit areas closer to the shores of seas, plant life, and organisms that live on land. The oil spills can pollute the water and some marine life can possibly consume said oils and die, also animals can get oil within their gills or even birds can get oil within their wings, immobilizing them. This can cause predators to attack the bird, and then die to the oil.

When an oil spill occurs, it poorly devastates more than one ecosystem, economy, and organism. For the environment, poor defenseless marine life is killed due to the oil being located on the surface of the water bodies. The oil can coat their feathers that do not allow them to fly, swim, and decrease their temperature. The toxins from the oil spills are killing Shorebirds, dolphins, whales, sea lions, sea otters, and other fish species. The oil starts at the very top and then sinks to the bottom, affecting all canopies of marine life. The more the oil sinks in, it is dispatched through consumption as well. This leads to a domino effect, in which one animal dies from oil contamination and then another animal dies from the elimination of their food source. The toxic cycle of oil pollution repeats itself.

The economy is drastically affected when an oil spill occurs. Companies lose profit due to their oil being wasted and they did not even get to sell it for revenue. Thus, their stocks go down in sales. Investors leave to go in search of other companies. On top of losing money, they have to pay in order to clean up the mess that they created. This creates a pragmatic domino effect in which company owners take a step back, realize their wrongdoings, and fix the problem of oil spilling so it can not occur once more.

A pollution cleanup solution measure that can be taken is having staff and the company overall itself fund and even show up to clean up the oil spills after what was necessary to happen happened. What can be both a pollution cleanup and pollution prevention to keep our ecosystem sustain is having different alternatives for companies such as using solar energy, solar panels, and finding alternatives that can limit the use of oil, but for oil spills that already occurred we can use "dispersants" where it can breakdown the oil, that later mixes into the water and makes the cleanup process easier. To persuade companies to use their resources and partake in "pollution prevention" I would begin to show them the effects that oil spills have on not only marine life but resources and the impact it has on humans as well. After that based on what we have learned so far in class, I would explain to them how we not only impact that ecosystem's animals but limits non-renewable resources for us which can ultimately limit our time on Earth living safely with resources compared to very limited resources.

This oil has impacted the water and marine life, because it kills many organisms that are near the surface of the water. It is less likely to affect the marine life in the deep end, this is because oil will always float on top of water and be near the surface since it is less denser. Moreover, the oil gets in the marine life and it we eat these marine organisms at times so we are basically poisoning ourselves . Also if one animal dies then the whole ecosystem will be affected as some organisms depend on those organisms for food.

Some of the environmental effects of oil spill are that they can kill organisms in the ocean such as plants and animals. They can also effect the Ph levels and it is also a form of pollution. Some organisms that are more affected by oil spills are the aquatic organsims and animals that arent affected as much are organisms that live on land. The effects can cause a domino effect because since some rivers water source are from the oceans the oil can seep into the rivers and can affect other organisms that are on land that utilize rivers as a water source.

When an oil spill happens oil is lost and oil is very valuable since we need it for cars and other machines, but now oil is lost and this is bad since oil is a nonrenewable resource. This means that we are depleting this resource too fast so for a lot of it to go to waste that makes people have to dig and find for more oil spots. Also this oil spill causes people to pay to find even more oil and pay for the cleanup and pay for the investments lost in that oil company/tank. So workers have to be hired and payed for this cleanup job and also are payed to help find oil to replace the spilled tank.
