Ms. Chyna brought up many big key points like forming relationships with coworkers, setting up your classroom, bringing new ideas, resources, and seeing the good in being an educator. Ms. Chyna hits many points that even I have questions about even though I am still 2 years away from graduation, but I still find this helpful to think about now and help take off some of the stressors.

Ms. Chyna gave her perspective on her first couple years of teaching. There was not a guest, but Ms. Chyna gave many different viewpoints. She talked about life as a teacher to life outside of the school. Ms. Chyna checked off many boxes for me, and I didn't see a need for a guest for this episode. It would be a nice idea for a second episode but with a guest.

This episode can help students relate to the nervousness, and maybe stress they could feel going into their first year as a teacher. Ms. Chyna also talks all about the resources the school provides, and that resources don't make a teacher. A teacher can still be great, even if there isn't the right enough of resources available. Many teachers dwell on the fact that there isn't enough resources, so hearing from a teacher that the resources don't matter helped me realize not to dwell on that fact.

Ms. Chyna talked all about asking for help and bringing new ideas. With special education everyday is not going to be the same, so sometimes you might have to ask for help. Asking for help is not always a bad thing, asking for help can lead to new learning experiences. Also with bringing new ideas, it can lead to many new experiences for the students and the teachers all around.

Something useful I learned was to observed and get into as many different classrooms as I can. From grade level, subject, General Education, and SPED. From the prodcast first year teachers could be placed anywhere, so having that experience can help you become a better educator and feel more prepared. In special education you have to think and be on your toes, so having a sense of feeling more prepared and experienced can help.

Resources are important for all students, so making sure students in special education programs have the resources they need to make sure that the students can be successful.

As long as you are there for the students, they will be successful. It doesn't matter what you have the in classroom, what resources you have, what your classroom looks like. The students are the most important.
