Activity: Have students select any book that interests them on Epic. I chose to utilize the book entitled, "Deep Sea Fisherman" by Nick Gordon to provide an example for students. I chose this book as I thought it would be engaging and exciting for students based on the pictures and content. I selected four words: unpredictable, hypothermia, inspections, and excitement from the text. We will extract root and affixes. The students will then read thier selected books and write down words where the roots and affixes can be seperated. We will share and review as a class.
