Because I could grab it before you!

Anna: (shocked) No way! I wouldn’t be able to survive without that TV!

David (security guard): Calm down, everyone. You can shop, but you must respect the rules.

Shop Assistant: Don’t worry, we still have more TVs. But you’ll have to wait. I can give you a discount coupon instead.

Ben: That’s perfect.
History of Black Friday-Sofia

Black Friday's origins are rooted in the United States and date back to the early 1960s. At that time, the term was used by Philadelphia police officers to describe the chaos and heavy traffic that occurred the day after Thanksgiving. This was because, the day after Thanksgiving, crowds of shoppers crowded the streets and stores, taking advantage of the long weekend to begin their holiday shopping. Police officers had to deal with traffic jams, pedestrian congestion, and even minor incidents on the streets, resulting in the use of the term "Black Friday" with a negative connotation. However, this connotation changed over time as retailers realized the holiday's commercial potential. In the 1980s, the term took on a new, more positive meaning, related to the financial health of companies. In accounting, losses are typically recorded in red ink, while profits are marked in black ink. Thus, "Black Friday" came to symbolize the moment when stores, after months of low activity, finally "came out of the red" and moved into the "black", driven by massive end-of-year sales.

Black Friday in Brazil is a date that is here to stay, with a relatively recent history that began to gain popularity in 2010 and consolidated in 2013. Since then, it has become one of the main sales dates of the year, offering discounts on products across all categories and being celebrated both online and in physical stores. Regulation and Oversight

USA: Promotions are more rigorously monitored and have a tradition of trust in discounts.

Brazil: Consumers and protection agencies (such as Procon) take stronger action against fraud.

Similarities

1. Date – Always occurs on the last Friday of November.

2. Focus on electronics – Televisions, cell phones, laptops, and appliances are the most sought-after.

3.
