Joseph Smith was the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was born in Sharon Vermont, he was the fourth son of nine brothers. His family was Wealthy until his father failed in several companies. He and his family used to move around northern New England and finally settled in 1816 in Palmyra, New York. Joseph had very little school education, he had to start working as a farmer on neighboring farms at an early age to financially support himself. Originally, he inherited religious introspection, his father was not interested in religion. New York became involved in religious feelings and disputes and was then that Joseph confessed to having been visited by God and Jesus Christ, affirming that they chose him for a special task. After three years, he returned to affirm that he was visited and chosen by the Angel Moroni to translate the history of the pre-Columbian inhabitants of the Western Hemisphere written on gold plates. Shortly after Smith explained that he was elected as a prophet of a new religion, then a book was published that explains the new religion. On April 16, 1830, the first church was founded and then the Church changed establishments. The church was involved in the banking economy and many non-Mormons were furious. Over time, Smith's church began gaining a lot of power and became a problem for the political state. After the church became an objective and had to overcome the order against them called "Order of Extermination" by this order many were killed. Time later, Smith surrendered and was imprisoned, when he was free Smith became the mayor of a new small town formed by the followers of the Church of Smith, which over time began to take power. When Smith entered the presidential elections, many non-Mormons considered him a danger to the nation, a public press group in Polygamy indicated that Smith was a fallen prophet. Smith got angry and ordered to destroy the entire press, but many members of the Church and those who lived in the town were scared, Smith was sent to Arrest on June 27, 1844, a mob broke into his cell and murdered Joseph Smith, 38, and his brother Hyrum.

"According to Smith's account, between 1823 and 1827 he made periodic visits to the site of the hidden plates, and he received instructions that would make him the modern prophet of a new religion. Completed in 1830, the publication of the Book of Mormon provided the text for the new religion, and Joseph Smith, Jr., was its prophet. On April 6, 1830, Smith incorporated the new church under New York law and revealed a revelation that designated him "a seer, a translator, a prophet, and apostle of Jesus Christ."
