Answer the following questions.
How do we want to feel in AP Psych?
Why is it important we have norms or agreements? Why would a class agreement be better than class rules? Why would a class agreement be worse than class rules?

How do we want to feel in AP Psych?
- In AP psych, we as a community want to feel included and on the same page. It oftentimes becomes difficult to move at a fast pace if others are falling behind on their workload. In the end, we all here wish to be prepared for either this class, the "big test," or both; It's ideal to work together as a community!

I think everyone wants to feel supported in this class. It can be kind of nerve-racking taking an AP class but if we all support each other, giving and receiving help when needed, we can all succeed. It is important to have norms/agreements so that class isn't crazy and so that we understand what is expected of us. I think an agreement is better than rules because it is more relaxed. It is more like agreeing to do good in the class rather than getting told the rules and just not caring about them. I think it could be worse because it might not be as strict to there could be some grey area in certain situations where people are confused about what is expected of them in the classroom.

People want to feel that their input will be valued. I want people to be comfortable enough in this class to feel like they can share their ideas.
It is important to have norms or agreements so that everyone understands the expectations they should abide by.
I like the idea of a class agreement because I think it will cause this class to have more respect for one another. As we come up with these ideas, we will understand what each person wants in this class, and will hopefully be able to better respect their ideas, and who they are as a person.
However, rules seem like they would be more stable than an agreement, and I feel as if they would be easier to follow. However, a class agreement will be much more personal.

Even if it's harder to conform and stay accountable to an agreement than it is to a set of rules, I think an agreement would be more beneficial because then it feels more like our choice. We can all give input on what we think our classroom should be like and we'll all be able to feel comfortable here, but not because we're being forced to do certain things, ya know? We do them because we want to support each other, not because we have to.

In AP Psychology we should all feel accepted and like can be honest with one another. AP should feel inclusive. It is important to have norms and agreements because then we come up with common things that we all want and it is better than class rules because we get come up with those on our own and adjust them if needed. Class rules can be better in the way of authority but we are all in a college level class so we should be able to act like one.

Why is it important we have norms or agreements?
- It is important to have norms or agreements in order to establish a sense of unity within the community. If you have not read my first pose about how we wish to feel, this comment ties in with the thoughts there. We need to work as a community, and if the class is not thinking and working as one alongside our agreements, it then becomes difficult to stay productive.

- I believe that students should feel comfortable and confident in AP Psychology. Taking an AP course can be a lot on some students and may make them feel like they can't accomplish what is being asked of them but if they have confidence, it will push them to do the best they can and I believe that having a good support system can help build a persons confidence.
- I think that it's important to have class norms/agreements because it gives students a better understanding of what is expected of them. It also gives students a since of respect for themselves, the other students around them, and their instructors.
- I think that agreements are better than class rules because it's an agreement based on what all the students in the class want to embody rather than a set of general rules that students must obey.
- A class agreement could be worse than class rules because agreements may not be as straight forward as a general set of rules which may confuse students on what is expected of them.

Why would a class agreement be better than class rules?
- One advantage the class agreement has over class rules deals with the feelings of voluntarily abiding. Since the classroom establishes a class agreement, the classroom as a whole has a different approach to what they define as the "classroom norms." It's pretty simple actually; As the word agreement implies feelings of volunteerism, students are more likely to want to follow these rules rather than feeling like they are being held accountable to do so.

Why would a class agreement be worse than class rules?
- This also goes hand-in-hand with what I had said about why a class agreement would be better than class rules. Since the concept of class agreements implies a sense of volunteerism, this means that a larger number of students are more likely to not abide to these rules. However, if students do abide to the class rules, they may only do so because they feel obligated to -- Thus making them feel less comfortable.

We all want to feel comfortable and secure in a classroom we are always going to be in. Taking an AP course is not easy and can sometimes really get to us. We should all be supporting each other and lifting each other up as much as possible.
-it is important to have norms so we could hopefully all feel welcomed & on the same page. We need to understand each other and figure out what is expected so we can all come to an agreement. A class agreement is better than class rules because we as individuals decide how we want our own “rules” to be, and we as a team could figure out how they benefit our classroom in all. On the other hand a classroom agreement can be worse because maybe the agreement is not clear enough as they are to other people. We obviously have our own opinions and viewpoints and we might not all come to an understanding, but conclusively I believe having a class agreement is better than having ordinary class rules.

I think everyone should feel relaxed in AP psych. I don't think anyone should feel nervous or bored in the class.
I think it's important we have agreements and "norms" so school actually works. We all agree to do our work and to actually participate in class. If we didn't, school just would not work. Having a class agreement helps everyone know what they need to do and what they don't need to do. Having class rules makes it seem more strict, and not everyone likes to follow rules. Having an agreement helps everyone know how they should act.
