In order to reduce stress, it has to be managed. There are different possibilities people can manage stress. Some possible ways an be counseling/therapy, exercise, and meditation (Sarafino, & Smith, 2017). An example of coping would be to take care of yourself. This means eating well-balanced meals, good quality sleep, and talking to others. By talking to others you can share your problems and how you are feeling, this will allow an understanding of the problem and a possible resolution.

My personal stress comes from school and work. With school, I intend to always strive to do my best in school, sometimes that allows me to become overwhelmed leading to stress. With work, I perform well with tasks and always try to work smarter not harder. One way I manage my personal stress is to have a set schedule that allows me to stay organized to complete day-to-day activities and other tasks.

I have learned that having a support system was beneficial to me when undergoing stress. There are many options for people that range from faith, family, friends, or professional health care. Personally, I feel both my faith and family is what helps. The verse, "Stand firm, and you will win life" (Luke 21:19) always speaks out to me because even though there are small bumps in life there is no challenge that can not be completed successfully.

Stress can lead to either short term or long term physiological effects (mental, emotional, physical) on the human body. An example of a physical short term effect on the body would be muscle tension. This muscle tension can also cause tension headaches (APA,2020). An example of a physical long term effect can be cardiovascular disease. This is possible because stress can increase high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, and blood cholesterol (Sarafino, & Smith, 2017).
