I love the idea of voting for your chosen book at the end of the day so children are having a choice and promoting a discussion about the text at the end.

Set this as a homework project for children to bring a wrapped book with a blurb / clue / hook to swap and read over the next half term.

Using library time effectively

I will use my library time to sit and share what they have already done before they swap them. Then I can do the same at the end and the students can share what they have chosen. I love the idea of the students enthusing each other!

I’m going to try book tasting with my class. I’m also going to try to provide ‘book discussion time’ each week where they can discuss and recommend texts they’ve enjoyed. We can also review different children’s authors together through the resources that Lucy has sent over.

I am going to create a place in my classroom for recommendations/book reviews so children have a place to look for their next book. I also like the book tasting so they have some ideas for next time!
