today we conducted our primary research which consisted of questionnaires and a focus group. The results from this research told us that we had planned our book very well because the target audience perfectly suited our book idea. The focus group told us that we needed to adapt the story so it was more or a story based book than just an educational book. We also tested some drawings of characters in our book so we could get more of a visual idea of what the book will be like. This lesson extended my skills of talking to people in a focus group because I had to make questions that will make people talk and questions that will spark a discussion. Some of my questions were not suitable because they didn't make people discuss the question so next time I will test the questions before i use them as part of a focus group

today we had a short lesson due to teacher training but we had time for a photoshop workshop so we could get used to animating the characters in our book. This was very helpful because it let us use photoshop in a way that we haven't used it before so we learnt lots of new ways of using the tools photoshop provides. We used the square tool to create the shapes and then used the colour selection tools to colour in the shapes and we used the triangle tool to create half of the roof then i reflected it to create the rest of the roof. Next time i will take notes on what i have done so i can use these techniques in future lessons.

Today we recorded the narrators voice for our ebook and we also did a workshop on animation teaching us how to make a character look like it is walking, this was difficult because some parts were confusing but with a bit of extra information it was easy once we got the hang of it because it is a simple set of instructions but they must be done in the right order. This lesson was very successful because we got all of the narration done in good time so we only need to record the dialogue then all of the audio will be done, we used garage band and a blue snowball mic to record the voice of our narrator (Liam Cooper). Next time we may start animating so we will use photoshop to colour them in then use final cut to animate them.

For today's lesson we recorded some of the audio for our characters within our e-book, this meant figuring out what we wanted our characters to say and finding people to record the voices for us. One of the main issues we had for this was the microphone we used, the first one we tried using wasn't as good quality as we wanted it to be so we ended up swapping mic half way through the recordings, this meant that our recordings didn't sound the same as the others. Our fault for this was that we didn't record all the voices on the same mic, if we had recorded everything all at once it would of all sounded better, however if we were able to complete this again we'd make sure that our recordings were all to the same quality and to a good standard, however our group were happy with the recordings we had as it was a good first draft. Continuing on with the lesson we also carried on with our photoshop for the e-book, this meant finding all the images we needed to match our voices

In today's lesson we continued recording our character voices and completing the theme tune for our e-book. We managed to complete all of the voices so we then made the theme tune for our ebook using garage band,I didn't come across any problems as I have used this program before. We still need to finish the music but we have a good start. We have not come across any problems in this lesson because we planned everything we would be doing today and we made no mistakes while recording because we learn't after last lesson when we messed up on the recording.

In todays lesson we had to finish making the music for our e-book, and making sure we had the rest of the elements we needed to put our animation together. We had a bit of trouble at the start with figuring out the style of music we wanted to use as when we first started we found that out our music was not the right pace so it sounded sad which majority juxtaposed the context of our e-book as we based our animation to be a happy story about friendship and helping kids learn the alphabet. After many tries we were able to come up with the right pace for our music which we thought matched the theme well. We also were able to complete all of the photoshop process today which meant the only thing we had left to do was to animate everything together

For today I went back to one of the previous backgrounds I had created and tried to improve on it. This was the forest background so it was dark but it still had the feel to it for our e-book. I had a bit of trouble getting the colour of the background right and making sure the shapes right but after a lot of practice I got it all done to a good standard

film analysis videos

Both videos were very good but the whiplash one was very descriptive and only said the obvious or easy to spot things, whereas the drive video was so much more analytical and went into detail about small parts of the film that were very meaningful when you take a closer look and really listen to what the characters are saying so you realise why the scene was put in when it is only important to people who are really focused when watching films because they will realise what certain scenes mean and how important they are.

i achieved my personal target by talking to the teacher and making a list of things i am going to include in my evaluation

Today we have been continuing with our evaluations and i have continued to work with the teacher to plan out every paragraph si i don't miss any important details. i have struggled to stay focused for parts of this lesson but once i got my head down i was able to get a lot of work done and power through each paragraph, i was able to do this because i planned what i was going to write so i didn't lose track.
