I think the first video is kind of exaggerating, it is kind of some cultural Egyptians habits or jokes that we like to tell. I think it is accurate about time, but not about food and invitations. As mentioned in the second video, we think English people are a little cold, they don't give a damn about if you are a stranger in trouble. In Egypt, we like to help in everything, you can always talk to a stranger and feel you are safe talking to them. Not all foreigners feel the same way, but I believe their is a big difference between a tourist and a traveller. Tourist don't get along with the culture and they just visit the country while wearing their own culture's glasses; as we mentioned in class. Travelers are more flexible for any thing unplanned to happen and they know how to get along with different people. A conclusion for this would be, tourist who visiting Egypt or staying for a while suffer as they want everything to be organized and they expect it. Now answering your question, my biggest shock of studying overseas would be the carless of people. I am used to always have support from my family and friends and this may change a little overseas. I would have to buy my own food and clean for my self while having control on my expenses as I won't have enough money as here. Another thing I want to mention, is that most people that think it is very FUN to study overseas, knows nothing about living in these countries they visited during summer. Visiting a country as a tourist is not the same as living in the country.

My biggest shock of studying overseas is people. I'm very talkative as you know but here in Egypt i get along with people because I'm funny and talkative. in Canada its different because when you're new to a culture you take time to bond in it, personally i think the biggest shock would be getting along with people from a different culture who will not be willing to help. Mr. Ivan told me you have to back up what you say because in Canada people will pick on what you say if its wrong. therefore I will have to back up everything I say with proof and evidence because I don't want to get in trouble. I'm not really worried about food because i eat anything. Another thing I would say would be a shock for me in Canada will be the fact of working to support myself. here in Egypt we are all dependent on our parents, we depend on them for food, money, cloth , and supplies. overseas this will be different, I will be cooking, cleaning, buying groceries, and working. As much as I'm excited I'm really scared even though I'm confident. Thats why starting today I will work on my attitude and thinking before I speak in order to not get in trouble.

I think this video is very accurate and not biased at all. This video shows the difference between Egyptians and americans in actions, lifestyle, attitudes, and respect. In Egypt we never respect time someone could be still at home and tell you 5 minutes and I will be there unlike americas if he says 6 he will be there at 6 no matter what. The Egyptian lifestyle consists of food and work nothing else, Americans run and play sports which helps them keep in shape unlike Egyptians who are considered the fattest Africans according to the WHO because we like to sit on the couch and order food, study, and watch tv. Egyptian attitudes are very famous for example i could go to my friend's house and ask for food, I will not be shy but Americans will have to be invited for dinner in order to eat. Egyptian parents are not open minded just like in the video when the mother was told that her daughter has a boyfriend she went nuts and that needs to change because the level of sexual harassment that is very high in Egypt is based on these thoughts. In conclusion this video is very accurate and not biased at all. All scenes are correct and happen in Egypt more often. I dont think anyone should take this video as an offence because it's stating the truth.

This video is unacceptable, every single detail in the video is totally wrong. Egyptians are not like this at all, actually the video is generalizing and we are not supposed to generalize. in every country people have bad habits and good habits. Their accent is not even Egyptian so we cant say that their Egyptians. We can find a lot of videos like this that makes fun of other cultures. But we never believe it because we actually think before we judge anyone. At the end we have to respect all cultures and never make fun of any cultures.

I think that this video is very offensive and racist towards Egyptians, this video is very biased, because it is showing Egyptian culture based on what they see but not what they actually see. The actions of Americans and Egyptians are similar, but some people are different than others. Due to the people's religious beliefs, it makes them act in a certain way, but not everyone acts like this. This video is trying to show that Egyptians are horrible people, when in reality not all of them are. The video is talking about the difference between Americans and Arabs. This video was created by Arabs, so it can be interpreted as either racist or as a joke, but this isn't a joke to us, because they are attacking our culture. When it mentioned the difference in fitness levels, it shows Americans as healthy people and Egyptians as lazy people. Actually the United States is currently ranked as the fattest nation in the world, and Egypt is not in the top five fattest nations, so this just shows how biased this video is. It doesn't want to show the bad side of the American culture and it does not want to show the good side of the Egyptian culture. So before trusting a source, think about the authors and if the source is reliable or not, because I could easily make a video about American culture, and put it on YouTube. When the Americans see it they'll be Offended because of how I will target Americans as bad guys. So this video is very inaccurate and it shouldn't be trusted.

Culture Shock:
In my opinion, i don't think studying overseas is a big issue, because no matter what people think of Egyptians, I know that Egyptians are not bad guys. I know what it is like outside of Egypt because I lived in Canada for three years, and when I came back to Egypt, I saw that there was no difference between Canadians and Egyptians. I only saw that people were just more educated, because Canada has more money. Culture wise there is no difference between Egyptians and the other cultures is just how people see it.

Culture shock:
In my opinion i do not think that there will be any big shock when if i travel abroad. This all depends on how people act on actions towards people. i have lived abroad before for 8 years in the UK and i would travel a lot to Egypt and i would never feel that there is a difference. it depends sometime on how people adapt to an enviorment. if it comes to rain and sun that should not be a shock for anyone. Also me as an egyptian when i drive in Egypt and drive abroad not all countries are systematic like UK for example Italy is not the best place fore driving as well as other countries around the world. Not one egyptian would be shocked when they travel abroad.

offeneded:
I am offended by this video this is because as egyptian i am completely offended by this video, it is showing us how egyptians act which is an incorrect way. plus the information i had talked about for culture shock. us egyptian do not act like this for all situations. a small example is the difference between an egyptian waking up there son/daughter from an american waking up their son/daughter.

In addition, the video only shows the Americans being good, healthy and always on time. However, in reality, there are always the good and bad, wealthy and poor, in every society. In Egypt, their are different types of classes, high and low. The low class are what are represented in the video, as most are in reality what happens. However, the high class are never represented. In the video, it doesn't show the low class families in America. They just show the healthy and wealthy people of America .

Culture Shock:

As an Egyptian that lived in Egypt my whole life I think i would be alright if I travel abroad to the UK. I will face some difficulties if i study in the UK because I will have to get along with their culture. Since the beggining of highschool i started learning about the English culture and I think I know enough information. I agree with the video that we do not meet lots of cultures in Egypt. It may be alittle difficult to get along with the different cultures in the UK. I respect the Egyptians who were interviewed in the video, they refused to say their opinion on the political stability in Egypt. Unlike the other video, they still showed there love to Egyptian culture and to the food.

Offended:
I am not the kind of person that gets offended easily. I have found this video offensive because it exagurating alot. I am very happy that these girls do not live in Egypt any more. This video has gone viral and by that happening the world will get a really bad impression of the Egyptian culture. The most thing I disliked about this video was, the part when the girl was being kind and giving more food to the guest. This shows that Egyptians are kind that they treat there guests well. On the other hand the Americans just ask " Are you hungry" and they reply "no" then they are like "ok." Making fun of Egyptians who treat their guests good make it very offensive for Egyptians. It also makes me angry that these girls are not even living in Egypt and they just make a video making fun of their own countries.

This video is not very accurate. Yet, still I feel offended by the video. In Egypt, we have many viners that joke about things like that. For example, Sherif Fayed he is an Egyptian/American viner that makes video like that however, he is still a proud Egyptian and they don't exaggerate about it the way they did in that video. In addition, the girls in the video don't have an egyptian accent that makes them not egyptian. So, it's not their culure neither their country to talk about in that way. In the video they totally represent the wrong picture about Egyptians. For example, the way parents wake up their kids. My mother never wakes me up in that way and not even close. In my opinion, that video is baised about Egyptian actions. Other cultures may see it is a vine or a funny video. Yet, the video is totally incorrect. If arabs that live in America portray arabs or egyptians in that way, then how do you want americans and otger cultures to think about us? They have to think that the Egyptian culture is a horrible culture to live in. This Video is an exaggeration that shows negative impacts on the Egyptian society. And I as an Egyptian see that this video it totally unacceptable especially that it's viewed in America and it's acted by non-Egyptians.

Culture shock:
I think that video is correct

After watching this video about the differences between Arabs and Americans, I was able to realise right away that it is not accurate. I believe that this video can be offensive because the girl in this video is not even Egyptian. I was able to realise this from her accent. Even though she is Arab, she has no right to mention Egyptians in that way. Yes, I agree that many Egyptians might be similar to the video, but not all Americans are exactly like the video as well. For example, the part were it talks about punctuality. Many Egyptians might be late most of the time. However, this does not mean that Americans are always on time. In fact, it depends on the person and how they are raised, not on the culture. Nowadays, culture does not have a huge impact on how one person acts. One can be Egyptian and act in a very different way than this video. It is not even a little close to what is happening in the video. The video is exaggerating and I do not think that these girls have the right to do this video and make fun of the Egyptian culture when they are not even Egyptian. I think people from other countries might look at this video in many different ways. It might give them a completely wrong idea about the Egyptian culture. Also, the part where it talks about how Egyptians wake up each other is not accurate at all. In fact, when my mother wakes me up, it is not similar to what is happening in the video. People might think that these videos might be funny, but this is only if the person who did the video was Egyptian. This is because it would be made for the purpose of laughing. However, I do not believe that this video’s purpose is to make people laugh, in fact, it is to show the difference between Americans and Egyptians. In Egypt, there are many viners that make videos similar to this, but they are not as offensive as this video. In conclusion, the reason why I believe this video is not accurate is because I am part of this culture so I have the right to judge it and to figure out if its accurate or not.
Culture Shock:
After watching the culture shock video, i think it is accurate because I am sure that if i travel to study abroad i would definitely face some difficulties. The fact that i have lived in Egypt all my life will let me face many problems since I would have to adapt to the new culture in the new country. I totally respect the people who were interviewed in this video as they were not offensive towards Egypt. My biggest culture shock that i can face is similar to the one mentioned in the video about the food. Also, when the man mentioned pork, i think that this might be a culture shock for me because pork is not very common in Egypt. In addition, i would not be able to eat the traditional Egyptian food that I'm used to. On the other hand, i am sure that this culture shock would not stop me from being successful and being able to adapt if i travel to study abroad. I respect this video because they mention both, the good and bad sides of staying in the UK. They do not only mention how living there is way better than Egypt. They simply mention both sides.

With all due respect, this video is very offensive, it does not show the good aspects of the arabian culture, the video is exaggerating, it doesnt have any link to the arabian culture, what is displayed is stereotypical, it does not even show the average family. The arab nations are known for their raising based on the islamic culture or the aspects of the religion, which is the vast majority of it is arab, it does not have any link to the culture in any way shape or form.

Culture Shock: Off course there are a lot of cultural differences between any two countries in the world. Getting out of your home country and moving to another country is a very hard decision to make. Because you’ll have to face the cultural differences and you will be forced to adapt. I know Egyptians that have lived all around the world , and they told me that if you think of the country that you are going to be bad and hard to live in, trust me it will be twice as bad as twice as hard. But if you think as the country as an adaptable country and kind people, you will adapt and you will meet nice people and interact with the culture in a respectable way.
Differences between Americans and Egyptians:

Now the second video is more accurate and not as offensive as the first one. In this video the people interviewed are actually Egyptian and have lived in the country. Therefore, what they've said is right. From this video I am not offended at all. Actually, I am with everything that they have said about Egypt; including traffic, studying, and the way of living. I beleive

I agree with them beacuse Ill be prepared to go meet different cultures beacuse ill be ready and already knowing about it. In addition to how they will influence the way I personally act and will make me learn different cultural aspects that will help me when i travel to different cultural countries. I will have an idea of how each culture works and will adapt on how they behave or interact. I will be prepared to meet new people and wont judge any cultural differences.

Video (American and Egyptians Video)
This video can be offensive to Egypt because the lady in the video mention writes contrast Egyptian behaviors verses American behaviors in a cultural way. The viewers can experience that the lady is not even Egyptian and uses Egypt as and example. Many of the cultural actions that were displayed in the video might be are not true. For example Punctuality, I believe that Egypt yes faces a problem with time but that doesn’t mean the American show up always on time or 100% respect the time. I have traveled to American more than 3 times met its people and experienced a lot of problems with them in punctuality. In addition to how I also meet live in Egypt and meet a lot of people whom full punctuality, drawing the conclusion that it’s a matter of upbringing and not culture. This video will influence other people around the world on how they should view Egypt Culture and it not even true these girls are not even Egyptians and don’t have any authority to use Egypt or America as their example

American vs. Egyptian:
I totally disagree, with the difference between the Americans and the Egyptians. Because I never saw an Egyptian mom does these things, especially how they are handling the news about when her daughter told her that she has a boyfriend, a mom in Egypt is very supportive, and she never embarrasses her child in front of her friends. Overall, I disagree on the whole video and there is not one thing I agree on.

Culture Shock:
The shock that I will have when I travel aboard, is when I see how things are so organized from how it’s here in Egypt. For example, the traffic here in Egypt is terrible, people don’t respect the traffic rules here, also here you have to wait until there is no car in sight for you to pass across the streets, but aboard people have to wait for the traffic light for them to pass across the streets. Also in Egypt, everyone can help others, like if you need anything a stranger can help, and they won’t wait for anything back from you, but aboard everyone is cold like they won’t be friendly to you, and if they help you, you’ll eventually have to return the favor someday. However, it won’t be easy for me to leave my country and go live in any other country, it’ll be hard.
