St. Petersburg, Russia. This synagogue is the second largest in Europe. It was built in between time periods of 1880 and 1888. The Grand Choral Synagogue took 8 years to be built. During World War I 100 hospital beds were organized on the premises of the synagogue for wounded people.

The city of Bethlehem with the Church of Nativity is a Christian sacred site. Here is believed to be the birth place of Jesus. Bethleham was destroyed in the second and century and then was rebuilt along with the Church of Nativity. The church was then destroyed a century later and then rebuilt again.

When a Hindu is approaching death, the family of this person wil contact their priest immediately so they can chant mantras and get the body on a grass mat and put water from the Ganges river into their mouth if possible. When the person dies preparations for a funeral begin right away. The ashes from this person will be out in the Ganges River.

Buddhist Burial Practice

When a Buddhist is approaching death family member and/or close friends will gather around this person and make them feel calm and peaceful. When the person dies they will be cleaned and dressed for the funeral. Instead of wearing fancy clothes they get dressed in everyday clothes that they would usually be seen wearing. Afterwords their ashes will either be kept with the family or thrown in the seen.

When a Christian dies their is a choice of burial or cremation. Burial is the most often choice because cremation was often objected until recently. If burial is decided the family and close friends will watch and pray as the body gets lowered into the ground.

When a Jew dies their will be a burial. Their is a special choosing of the casket the person gets buried in. Family watches as the casket gets lowered in the ground.

When a muslim is approaching death they will be surrounded by family to assure hope and kindness. After death the person should be buried as soon as possible. Cremation is forbidden with muslims. Salat al-Janazah (prayers) should be said by all members of the ceremony during funeral.
