Humanistic therapy is a type of therapy, revolving around the relationship between a therapist and his/her client. It mainly focuses on giving the person complete support, and control of the session. Acceptance and empathy is believed to go a long way in helping clients overcome extreme psychological issues. Humanistic therapy can be used in everyday life to help the people around you. Showing others support, acceptance, and empathy in real life is a way of using humanistic therapy to help your peers on a day to day basis, psychologically. Spread the love to everyone around you!

There are different stages of adolescence that last for different periods of time, causing changes for the adolescent. Puberty changes males and females in different ways, causing confusion, and a need to fit in for a teen. Most of us teens feel as if the people around us don't understand what we are going through, causing fights with out parents, and a rift in our relationships. Parents were teens once, and they know exactly what we are going through! If you need any help, don't be afraid to ask a parent, and inform teens that it is fine to need questions answered.

In Lesson 3.02, I learned about operant conditioning, and behavior. I learned how to identify positive reinforcement, primary reinforcement, negative reinforcement, and punishment. I could definitely use this in the outside world, because I now know all the different ways to enforce positive behavior. I find that most people use punishment to enforce their desired behavior on another. Instead, we could use any of the other reinforcements. I know I will use one of these enforcements with my little sister, because she is a bit of a trouble maker. She’s not that bad, but I have noticed that whenever she does something we do not like, she gets immediately punished. I want to try and use positive reinforcement, so she learns that bad behavior is not all about punishments ends with punishments, but she can actually want to improve herself.

Lesson 4.04 is about the different ways you can be blocked from solving your problem. Some of these obstacles could be functional fixedness, fixation, confirmation bias, counterproductive heuristic, availability heuristic, overconfidence, framing effect, and belief perseverance. Being able to know and understand all the different ways I could be deterred from figuring out my answer to something will allow me to do the opposite of my current actions, and think outside the box. I will benefit from this way of thinking in the outside world, because will allow me to solve problems in different ways than I already do.

There are three main fields in Psychology. Clinical Psychologists are therapists; however, despite what most think, they can not prescribe medication. You will most likely find them in hospitals, community health settings, or they may work in private practices. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of psychological disorder. This person can prescribe medication to a patient. Last but not least, a mental health counselor or worker provides therapy to individuals, groups, and families. They cannot prescribe medication, and you can find them in private practices, community mental health settings, schools, clinics, and hospitals. It is very important to learn your options, so you know who to ask for help, and you can inform others if they need assistance.
