An exclusive work experience programme is available with Lloyds Banking Group's Legal team in Leeds. LBG has developed a specialist work experience programme as part of the legal sector's PRIME initiative, which aims to increase access to the legal profession for students. 

Key aspects of the opportunity:

• Developed by LBG's legal team

• Structured program to encourage diversity in the legal profession

• 5 day programme from 10^th – 14^th February

On completion, with full attendance and engagement in all dates of the placement shown above, students will receive a £400 bursary.

We're aware that many students are looking to apply for Work Experience this term, so this could be the perfect placement for students in Y12 (England & Wales) S5 (Scotland) and Y13 (Wales), who are particularly interested in a career in Law.

There is strict application criteria for this placement and we require educator and Parent/Guardian confirmation that they meet one or more of the following:

• Have been, or are currently, in local authority care.

• Are currently in receipt of, or have previously received, free school meals, Pupil Premium, Education Maintenance Allowance and/or 16 to 19 Bursary.

• Are, or have been, a full-time or part-time carer.

• Came to the UK as a refugee or asylum seeker.

• Live in a household where the occupation of the main household earner is categorised as a routine or manual occupation 

• Grew up in a household where no parent or guardian attended University.

If you are supporting a student's application, please stipulate which of the criteria they meet within the cover note.

The application closing date is 3^rd April but could close early if there is significantly high demand, as this is a popular date Programme with limited places. We encourage students to apply as soon as possible.

Laura Healy - Law Lecturer

💬 Called to the Bar in 2011, Laura holds a masters in Employment Law and an LLB in Law with American Law, which saw her spend a year studying at South Texas College of Law in Houston. Laura worked in the public sector before moving into private practice where she specialised in Personal Injury. Now a lecturer at The University of Law, Laura teaches on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, predominantly in Public and Employment Law, and is passionate about making legal education engaging and accessible.

Alice Anderson - Trainee Solicitor, Wedlake Bell
