“Too much sanity may be madness” echoes the earlier “Perhaps to be too practical is madness.” Do we really want to live our lives steadfastly doing what is practical? Where’s the fun and joy in that? Where’s the adventure?

“To see life as it is” is to “surrender dreams.” Shouldn’t we aspire to more than just the status quo? Shouldn’t we fight for what we believe is right? Even if it sometimes means pursuing an unrealistic goal

“too much sanity may be madness” -

Sanity comes from an inner stillness. A calm state of mind from which you act out of wisdom instead of knowledge. However, the world is obsessed and addicted to thoughts. Therefore, the person that dares to be sane will be seen as mad because he or she stands out from the masses.

“and maddest of all: to see life how it is, and not how it should be.”

From that same inner stillness, life is seen crystal clear without the distortion of illusions or blurriness of thoughts. From a sane state of mind, you simply let life be and accept it how it is, which in the “new world” or “western world” is something unheard of and is therefore labeled as “madness”. Therefore, the maddest of all is to see things as they are (perfect inner stillness) instead of how they should be (obsessive thinking).

That is a famous quote from Miguel de Cervantes' novel Don Quixote. It suggests that someone who is too rational and logical may not be able to fully understand or appreciate the complexities and beauty of life. It also means that those who are able to see beyond what is considered "normal" or "typical" may be considered mad by society.

This quote, attributed to Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes, suggests that perhaps those who maintain a strictly logical and realistic view of the world may actually be missing out on the potential for a more imaginative and hopeful perspective. It implies that there is value in allowing oneself to dream and imagine possibilities that may not exist in the current reality. Overall, the quote encourages a balance between logical thinking and creativity.
