Our popular Tai Chi session is back! in addition to our regular range of sensory service providers, digital tech demos and information and advice. Join us for all of this and more, over a tea or coffee.

This month we have a cooking demonstration with Middlesbrough Environment City, and our Vision Rehabilitation Officer will be on hand to offer advice and guidance on low vision cooking skills, in addition, we will have a Tai Chi session, a range of sensory equipment for demonstration, our sensory information library with a range of leaflets from different low vision organisations.

Join us for a friendly chat with low vision service providers, health and social care professionals over a brew!

10am-12 noon at the Live Well Centre, Dundas Shopping Centre.

This month, we have a mindfulness session from our Middlesbrough Social Prescribing Team, our Digital Inclusion Officer will be ready to demo the 999BSL app and can answer any of your device queries, or take part in Tai Chi. Find out about the RNIB Living Well With Sight Loss Course The Sensory Information Library and refreshments available as usual.

This month we are joined by Cleveland Police with their security marking device, and the Middlesbrough Community Safety Team who can give advice on all matters security and experiences of crime.

There will be the usual sensory information and advice, a range of health and social care professionals and Tai Chi all with refreshments.

Also, at the September Drop In is RNID hearing check, RNIB, Healthwatch, equipment demonstration, advice, information and guidance from social care and public health, plus our usual wellbeing activities such as our regular Tai Chi session.  Refreshments available.

Looking for advice and information about sensory needs in a sensory-friendly setting? Join us for the next Sensory Drop-In on Friday, November 1st, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The event will feature Tai Chi, sensory equipment demonstrations, expert advice, free RNID hearing checks, and support from the RNIB Community Coordinator Team. Refreshments will be provided.

The Safe Places Scheme are venues in the community where people who need extra support can go if they need some help or feel unsafe whilst out in the community.

people who can benefit from this scheme may never actually need to use it, but the existence of the 'Safe Place' venues enables people to feel safer, and get out and about more, helping those to be more independent.

Help from a 'Safe Place' venue can range from a phone call home or help with directions.

This month, we’re excited to welcome Andy Hampson from the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit, who will be sharing vital advice on scam protection through the Scam Smart – Don’t Get Hooked session, helping you spot scams before they bite.

In celebration of Occupational Therapy Week, our OTs will also be on hand to discuss how OT services can support independence at home.

As always, you’ll find sensory information and advice from Adult Social Care, sensory equipment demos, free RNID hearing checks, and Tai Chi with our Public Health Team. BSL interpreters and refreshments will be available throughout the morning. Everyone is welcome.

The Eye Care Liaison Officer (ECLO) from James Cook University Hospital will be attending to talk about their service based within Ophthalmology, offering information and advice.

We will be joined by Guide Dogs UK who will share information about their services, and there will be an opportunity to meet a working Guide Dog!

Alongside Guide Dogs we will have the Public Health Team with Tai Chi, the Sensory Team from Adult Social Care, RNID free hearing checks and lots of other partner agencies working to support sensory communities. BSL Interpreters.
