How did you get on with the process of stop motion animations design?

It was really fun I almost felt like I was in primary school again hahah but it was very messy at times with the glue and clay because of how much stuff I had to glue to together like the armor pieces that stick onto the fur or clothing of my puppet and molding the clay leaving your hands the colour of the clay your using (yellow and orange for me).
However the only thing that got to me was planning the timing for the movements (movements per frame) and how fast I wanted certain movements, a lot of tests were done in advance to try cover these problems like doing test shots to see how fast 2 frames per movement looked compared to 3 or 4 frames per movement, which helped me learn which was best for the specific types of movements I wanted.

It worked very well but I should have made it a bit more sturdy because my puppets couldn't stand by themselves, because I didn't use the methods such as placing screw nuts on the base of the feet to add feet based rigging to hold up my puppets and make them have smooth animated walk cycles; or the proper rig stands to help them stand up, I had to use a armature wire made rig stand and mini clip stands to help support my puppets, which led to a pain of a lot of wire removal in post, unlike the clean way of feet rigging. ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓

Reply to Dan (BROTHER)
The review from my brother about the voice audio, does sound like a good idea and I also agree with this note, so I'm going to record two voices one for the monkey and the other for the jade witch to show a little more connection between them both. How I'm going to do this is by recording my voice for the monkey and get a friend to do the jade witches through the software audacity then sync it with the actions in adobe premier.
Reply to Pam (MUM)
The response from my mum about it being to short and having a lot of stiff movements; ill keep this in mind for my next stop-motion animation and try to add this to create a more flexible moving puppet and smoother animation.
Reply to Calvin (BROTHER)
Ill try slow down the scene by adding extra frames for some seems that could linger on for a few more frames to add some length to my animation and ill slow down the credits, so its more readable.
Reply to Porsha (SISTER-IN-LAW)
I will add some battle themed music that I can find on a lot of the royalty free music sites and try get a victory theme too for the ending. Also ill add the voice in too to show some emotion.

It improved it a big chunk due to helping me know what scenes come after the other and allowed me to find scene/shots that worked out a lot better than the original planning. This can be seen in these examples of scenes that don't match the original storyboard designs due to the option I went with being better or I was unable to archive by other means. Also the other scenes/panels were spot on and didn't have much done to them in terms of it being changed in the final product compared to the storyboard version.
I'll explain in more detail about the process in the picture examples down below. ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓

Due to the original idea using her face to reveal who she was, this led me to add the idea of post effects in after effects for her knuckles, saying "JADE WITCH" on them so the viewers understand who the character is while keeping the shot type a medium shot on her arm/upper torso region.

In panels 11 and 13/scene 11 were meant to be separate panels but just like panel 9/scene 9, it slows down the flow and pace of the animation when I made the sequence of the scenes occur one after the other, so I had an idea of putting the scenes together as a split screen to portray that they started charging at each other at the same time, unlike the previous idea that shows them running at each other one after the other which could of led the viewers to believe that they ran at different times, which I wasn't trying to go for; I did this to re-speed up the flow/pace of my stop-motion animation. Also I thought this was a good idea because it uses the same technique they use in live action films for action and most films that try to build tension for the viewers that are watching, which I wanted.
Also I made changes to the shot type too, as the extreme close up didn't seem to look as epic so I changed this to a medium shot of the lower region of their bodies (legs and feet) which seemed to work very well, I did this to show the viewers a bit more movement is happening in the scene; as opposed to just showing a extreme close up of feet for a second and then them moving out of view.
(PS: Who wants to see feet anyway... haha.)
