Our rehearsal of the pinning ceremony was scheduled for the afternoon. We were asked to wear our uniforms and sit with our parents already.

As it would be a special pinning ceremony, it must be perfect. I was also feeling nervous that I might lose my pin bar. It feels so exciting, nervous, and motivating because, at this point, I can now say that I am only a few steps away from the next chapter of my life, as a teacher.

It also became memorable because it happened virtually. My mother was the one who put the pin on me.

It may sound so cliché, but may we always light the fire and let us always keep our passion be fueled!

It's one of the unlocked discoveries in my life. Observing other classes became a relief and stress to me. But it was a balance. I can see their reactions while doing different activities and listening during discussions.

As I had observed classes from Grade 7 to 8, I tend to compared their active participation. Now I have understand that topics of the lessons could also affect their attention span. There are indeed many factors to look at.

In my own simile words, it's like milk that I do not want to drink even if it's good and needed by our body. Economics is part of my majorship. It's one of the umbrellas of Social Science Education. To survive Practice Teaching is one of the biggest achievements I'll ever have in my life.

I was so nervous before I had my time to teach. I hate economics. I do not want this subject at all. Yet, here I am. Teaching passionately, and with a so cute presentation uniquely prepared for my brilliant and wonderful students.

I had a reflection on today's PATNURO. To FAIL is not always a choice; sometimes, it happens for us to keep seeking SUCCESS. As future teachers, teaching is always a two-way process. Students should learn from teachers and vice versa. When a student fails, the teacher is somehow responsible for it. Unfortunately, in the middle of the discussion, I was disconnected. It happened more than thrice. I tended to feel demotivated as my internet connection was unstable. Yet, I feel so boosted with passion whenever I saw that students are telling me that "Ma'am lag ka po, "Ma'am mabilis po". It makes me feel like they are concerned with the lesson.
At the end, of the time our Cooperating Teacher, lead the class and ended it. She recalled and reviewed the formulas that students has to remember.

The Practice Teachers under the supervision of our Cooperating Teacher is four. We all just finished our graded daily practice teaching. Our CT decided to take over the class. Our CT had reviewed the formulas in (antas ng pagtaas ng presyo) such as Purchasing Power of Peso, Inflation Rate, Consumer Price Index, and Total Weighted Price.

We also had the chance to observe the Grade 7-St .Clement during their Araling Panlipunan class. Students are active and passionate while having their reports. "Every day is a grand demo day" is a statement that marks us all. That was the statement that our Supervising Instructor (SI) left us. Eventually, this has also become my mindset as I enter the Practice Teaching at Manila Cathedral School.

It is a big day for me as I will be teaching with my SI observing me. I was so nervous, not because I'm unprepared, but because I'm having trouble with my internet connectivity. I was so nervous as I might get disconnected during my discussion. It would cause a domino effect. I would get lost with my momentum, feel panicked and discouraged and for worst I won't be able to finish my demo teaching as I only have 50 minutes to teach. It would affect my grade.

Luckily, and maybe with God's will, I was able to finish my demo teaching. There were times that I get static, but I was never disconnected. I felt like I can now freely breathe worrying nothing.

I together with my SI, had the post conference. I received feedbacks and suggestions. All those things will now serve as my checklist for improvements. I have to check it regularly for me to monitor my improvements and know if I am getting better each time I teach.

I was also given a chance to hear the comments, suggestions, and feedback from my Cooperating Teacher. I may not be able to finish the whole activities written in my Lesson Plan, but I am satisfied with my teaching today. I still had a good grade and good comments. Indeed, the Lord is with me, together with my supportive support system.

It is another day for observation. Our CT is still the one who takes over the classes. She mentioned she had to discuss the following topics as it is included in their quarterly exam. As a Practice Teacher, I had observed that in this particular class that I am handling, had inactive participation of the student and they tend to have their cameras off.

I think the long time of lecture affects their attention span. They are not all focused. I can see some faces being distracted by some other stuff in front of them.

Since this particular class is the section I am handling, I know they are active. Therefore, I've concluded that they get bored with a long lecture type. It is needed to be in this kind of discussion as there's a limited time before the quarterly exam.

Today, we had our daily class observations to the Grade 9 St. Luke, St. Andrew, and St. James. Only a few students had opened their cameras during the synchronous classes. Yet, Teacher Zulueta continued to encourage students to open their cameras, yet few students obeyed. For the worst scenario, no one in St. James had opened their camera.

We end the class by having a consultation with our Cooperating Teacher. She gave us a copy of her references in the next lesson: Patakarang Pananalapi.

Honestly, I am not confident with the teaching I had today. My cooperating teacher gave me feedback. I take her comments as an opportunity to improve my skills in implementing activities that will make my students relate to the topic. She mentioned in one of her feedbacks that we are improving. Yet, there are still minor things that she believe has room for improvement.

Today, we didn't attend to observe the class of Grade 7 Clement. According to our Cooperating Teacher, they will only be having a review in preparation for the upcoming exam week. In line with that, we did our Classroom-Based Action Research CBAR). We managed to think of the possible topics that we can have. We shared our personal observations, and think of the possible topics that we could have. Temporarily, we had agreed to use the topic I shared with them, Low participation of students in online classes. We recalled the time when our students how became active in class discussions. We thought that it was through gamification. The need to address the interest needs and how can we address them in a general manner plays a big factor in deciding gamification.

More than that, we had also submitted our Lesson Plan for the upcoming week. The first draft of our lesson plans will be checked by our Cooperating Teacher.

However, I noticed that students were coming late to the class. So, I gave them a grace period until their numbers become more.

Unfortunately, only two to three people were opening their cameras. It already affected my mood in teaching. When I asked them why they cannot open their cameras, many of them said that they are using mobile data. As a teacher, I was able to shift my set mood easily and be thankful that despite having difficulties of brownouts or intermittent connection, they still manage to attend the class. And so, I continued to teach my dear students with enthusiasm. Luckily, there are students who are active in participation. Many of them maximized the use of chatbox to participate and some of them unmute their microphones. We weren't able to finish up until the formative assessment. I only send the link for the application of the lesson through our Cooperating Teacher.

There are about 35 students who attended my class. I am happy with this class, Grade 9 St. Mark. One of the things that fluttered my heart is when we recall all the types of Institusyong di-Bangko at Bangko, many students raised their hands. After teaching, our Cooperating Teacher (CT)gave us feedback on our delivery. As usual, we tend to extend a few minutes which is not good. I believe that this is something that I need to work on especially when I am handling class with active students. More than that, our mannerisms were also noticed by our CT. She mentioned that as the dates of our grand demo are approaching, we should start avoiding the mannerisms that we had such as "noh", "okay, and "so". Personally, I know I have mannerisms such as saying "aaahh" for a second. It's something to remove and be improved.

It was also my first time observing students taking their quarterly exams online. They had a grace period of 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM. Our Cooperating Teacher gave reminders before they took the exams. Today, Wednesday until Friday will be allotted for the exam week. Every day there will be two subjects to take. And there is an hour to finish it. Today, the students had Araling Panlipunan and English subjects. Whenever they finished an exam, they would be asked to raise their hands to identify those who have not yet submitted the exam. Their exams were made via Google form.

It was a great experience and a weird one for me as I observed them taking their exams. I think they might feel like someone's watching them and they may be distracted. But then, I believe some of them are already used to it, others still don't. Our CT is consistent in reminding the students to open their cameras as it is their rule since first quarter. I also think that there are other reasons other than the use of gadgets and intermittent connections. It is something that I also want to know. Today is the second day of the exam of the Grade 9 students that we are handling. Many of them get in earlier than expected. To make the students calm and feel relaxed, the teacher had some light moments, like joking around. Some students even lead the way and serve as the clown of the town. One of the students sang to his classmates to entertain them.

As I observed, I had a short reflection, that it would be more fun when it happened in a face-to-face class. And at the funniest part is that you may also mirror yourself when you were in their position, reviewing, taking seriously the reviewers, or even chitchatting with other classmates asking "Nagreview ka ba?" "Idasal na lang natin yan "and many more. However, this online exams while their cameras are open will also serve as a new opportunity and discovery for us, teachers and everyone in academe not to limit our knowledges. It is for us to look beyond what we have encultured in the old system.

As I checked the attendance, most of the students were present, and there was only one who came late.

In my opinion, the arrangement of subjects was good as it allows the students to rest earlier on their last day of the exam.

In the afternoon, we had a meeting with the Practice Teachers in preparation for CBAR, Lesson Plans for the upcoming week, and the approaching grand demo. Our 30 minutes was productive as we have tackled everything. We also scheduled dates and reminded the things we have to do.

If you are a teacher in the Department of Education, you have to chase your students for them to submit their lacking activities and projects. Unlike when you are a college instructor, it is the students that will have to chase you for the sake of their grades.

More than that, I also think that it was difficult for a teacher to check papers, projects, and completion of all the requirements. Handling many sections is quite tiring. Yet, it was also fun because you may observe the uniqueness of students' individuality. The collaboration,team work and unity of every section can also be seen if it's evident or not.

Online learning makes it also more difficult for a teacher to find their students who are used to being absent during synchronous classes and still do not make time to finish tasks. The lack of presence is already absent, and the monitoring makes it uneasy for a teacher. Sometimes they cannot think of feasible ways to connect with their students as they have limited resources.

Lastly, I think it's unfair on the side of a teacher as she is the one who chases students who failed to do their responsibilities as students, yet they are to be blamed when everything fails.

I witnessed how patient my Cooperating Teacher was with her students who does not do their tasks at a given time. They have ample time to do it, and in my perspective, those were easy tasks. Still, they failed to accomplish it ahead of time. For a person who does not have enough patience in this stuff like me, it will be in trouble. When the day comes that I'll be in the situation of my CT, I hope that my burning passion remains the same despite all the difficulties and challenges- whether it's internal or external factors.

It was only on my computer. During class, another unexpected situation happened. My mother unintentionally turned the switch off in the room where I am staying at. All the appliances that I am using blackouts. I was a bit mad, but then I had to stay focused. I immediately turn on again the computer and rejoin the class. The experiences that I had made me think that it was a bad day. Today marks my 9th demo teaching. I thought I'll lose our internet connection the entire time of my teaching. So, I had a backed-up data load.

Today also marks one of the most satisfying teachings in my daily practice teaching. I was so happy that our Cooperating Teacher see how much I grows day by day. She also notices my activities.

Overall, it was great to receive their feedback and suggestions from her. I am also having a problem in terms of time management as I was always loaded with different activities. I needed to put it all in 50 minutes. Our CT has suggested ways how to make it comprehensive yet will not consume much time.
More than that, I can see how participative my class is. I felt appreciated whenever participate in our class recitation.

Utilizing Bingo as our instructional material in motivational activities helps my class become more participative than usual. I can feel their energy while answering. In preparation for the upcoming week, this day was given to us by our Cooperating Teacher (CT) for our Lesson Plan. I did a Lesson Plan about Palatandaan ng Pag-unlad at Mga salik na nakatutulong sa Pagsulong ng Ekonomiya. Our CT already gave a reference as the topic is too broad to discuss.

The said topic was part of my daily practice teaching. But for my co-Practice Teachers, it was already their final grand demo. They had a one-on-one conversation with our CT. I can feel their nerves and excitement as they prepare passionately their lesson planning.

Our Cooperating Teacher always tells us to learn how to maximize ours in a small amount of time. I was a bit afraid that I may not be able to practice time management. Yet, I also believe that I need to keep on practicing. It may sounds cliche, but definitely, it is true: Practice makes perfect. Practicing also allows us to discover and re-do how we deliver our lessons.

It is still about two weeks before my Grand demo teaching. Time flies so fast. I didn't notice that I've been teaching for so much as I thought I am. Grand demo teaching is waving! Yet,here I am continue practicing for my personal development in lesson planning and delivering of my lessons (from postures to the use of words, and mannerisms).

On the other hand, it was also a big day. My co-Practice Teachers' schedule of Grand demonstration teaching was today and tomorrow. In simple words. I will be the one who will be left teaching as my Grand demo teaching is on April 19. I was a bit pressured because they will now focus more on other requirements. I witnessed their preparation for their Grand demo teaching. As the days passed by the anxiety kept high. More students than usual have participated in the class discussion. Our topic today was "Balakid sa Pambansang Kaunlaran". I only had a short time preparing for the PowerPoint presentation. I used to make activities that are so extra. In my past years of learning and teaching, we became fond of more than one activity and making lessons into a technologically integrated discussion. But then, I never knew that a time will come in my class when I'll appreciate "Simplicity" in the discussion.

I only utilized had simple activities. To start the class, we had a review of the past class sessions. I presented graphic organizers where I only asked my students to unmute as they participated.During the application, I ask them to access Mentimeter as they put what they have learned in the class, and leave them a question "Paano mo ilalarawan ang bansang Pilipinas kung ito ay magiging isang maunlad na bansa?" I was shocked as I've read the answers of my students. More than that 16 out of 25 students participated in the class activity.

To end, we only had a thumbs up or down a formative assessment. It is to assess in general the lessons or concepts that they had to understand at the end of the meeting.

Lastly, I just want to share that for the past few days, I am experiencing trouble with sleeping. One factor was the anxiety and pressure that I am feeling with regard to the upcoming Grand demo after holy week. I was about to end my class discussion when one inactive student direct messaged me in Zoom. I only realized that that particular student had only become active in the class today.

Supposedly, I will be teaching in the first class of St. Mark. However, the Manila Cathedral School had an announcement concerning the end of Quarter 3. The day was spent on the completion of requirements. Our Cooperating Teacher mentions the names of the few students who are still not passing their lacking requirements for the third quarter.

Honestly, I was sad because I wasn't able to teach St. Mark. This section will be the section that I'll be having on my Grand demo day. They are active despite attending an 8:00 AM Araling Panlipunan Class.

I just had a reflection, while I was writing and checking the attendance of students in all the sections for today. Knowing your students is a vital role of a teacher. One way to know them is through their appearance and attendance. Monitoring them when they came ahead of time or late is little but a part of a huge role of a teacher.

Later in the afternoon, we had a meeting in preparation for our Classroom-Based Research Action. It's every education student's most prepared day to have- THE GRAND DEMONSTRATION TEACHING.

I finished my Lesson Plan last Monday, (April 11). Due to the holy week, my Cooperating Teacher checked it last Saturday (April 16). I didn't waste my time. I already started my Powerpoint Presentation despite the fact that my CT hasn't checked it. Fortunately, when she returned my Lesson Plan, she said that she only changed and commented on my affective objective. That amazing time, I am half away to finish my Powerpoint presentation. So, when I read it, I felt happy indeed, it was a good decision to start my PPT. I maximized the free time I had.

Yesterday, I had a reflection that I might not be able to make my Demo done at the exact time due to the set of activities that I will be utilizing. I decided to change it with a piece of advice from my CT. Good thing, she agreed with me.

During my demonstration earlier, I felt nervous, as most of my students are either on their way home right from their vacation or others had trouble with internet connections. This section was so active and even always open its camera. But as we always say, "unexpected things/moments happen in an unexpected time" and that time was my GRAND DEMO. I'm a bit discouraged to teach as those number of students who messaged me that they cannot participate much are those students who are well known active students in the section. Yet, I trusted myself and my students that they will help me on this important day of mine as an education student.

I ended the class, with satisfaction. Yet I know, that my students could have participated more when they had a more stable connection. Before I leave the Zoom, I told myself " The passion and efforts in teaching do not stop at the end of the Grand Demonstration, it should be seen consistently by a variety of students for them to strive more to learn and seek new discoveries.

Honestly, I felt emotional as I read their feedbacks on me, and felt appreciated when I received direct messages from them.Indeed, it was a productive and purposive journey.

We joined the morning assembly and had a mini-program with a certificate of appreciation to our Cooperating Teacher. She has helped us throughout our Practice Teaching Journey. Since this is our last day, I will also serve as my last journaling as a Practice Teacher. I want to share how satisfying it is to finish teaching. I didn't even notice that days, weeks and months passed by so quickly as we enjoy every meeting.Cramming of Lesson Plan and preparation for Powerpoint Presentation is part of being a Pratice Teacher. As far as I remember, Balitaan became one of the hardest part of my lesson planning. I was not always watching television, that's why it makes me feel hard to find news that are relevant and can be integrated in our daily lesson. But then, I survived it. Sleepless nights have also happened to me in my Practice Teaching journey. I tend to yawn. But during the class, I make sure that I am prepared and energetic. I am very much happy to see how engaged my students are.

I learned so much from this experience- from my students, my Co-Practice Teachers, my Cooperating Teacher, and my Supervisor. Everything became possible and easy to deal with because I belong to a healthy environment with a support system.I will treasure every moment, every recorded meeting, and activities that I ask my students to do in my class.
