Societies create justice systems for their own individual reasons. However, most share the goal of creating these systems to have order in their society and hold each individual accountable for their actions. A justice system is often used to establish what is right and what is wrong, that way people can follow these morals and values to create a society that is as close to ideal as possible (by the creators standards).

However, the justice system has never been fair in terms of racial inequality. It doesn't matter what a person could do. At the end of the day, they only see one thing.
