         <description><![CDATA[<p>11.09.2025       XI.IX.MMXXV</p><p>WALT - Powers of 10. </p><p>In maths today, we used a Gattegno chart to help when finding 10x, 100x, 1000x, 10,000x bigger. This helped with out multiplying by multiples of 10 too, as we could visibly see the number of 'jumps' needed and how it moves up a place value column. </p><p><br></p><p>We then had a go at some worded questions in our books.  </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>16.10.2025         XVI.X.MMXXV</p><p>WALT - Factors and Common Factors. </p><p>We started the lesson by reviewing what factors were, as we had previously learnt this a lot in Y4 when doing Mastering Number. </p><p>(Factor x Factor = Product) </p><p><br></p><p>We then continued to look at factors, drawing factor bugs to find out how many factors, how many factor pairs and which factors were common across different times tables.</p>]]></description>

We needed to remember to multiply by the ones, then the tens and to carry over/exchange into the next place value column.</p>]]></description>

We worked in pairs, using our oracy skills to work together well as a team, talking through each step so that there was a shared understanding. </p><p><br/></p><p>Some of them required a bit more thinking and nearly tripped some of us up!</p>]]></description>
