1: The selection process should have two parts - a pre-screening/application form, and an interview.

Pre-screening/application form:

• Should contain questions to make sure that applicants have a genuine intellectual curiosity and are willing to commit

• Perhaps a question to gauge the general experience level of applicants (this won't be the be-all-end-all question, it's just there to help tailor the program to applicants' needs)

• A submission of previous written work should be necessary.

Applicants who are selected from this form will proceed to an interview - from which final participants will be selected.
