For example, athletes can stand up for the national anthem and people respect that they do that. Another person who didn't stand for the flag was Jackie Robinson saying  "I cannot stand and sing the anthem. I cannot salute the flag; I know that I am a black man in a white world." This shows that athletes have respect from people and they have the ability to do that.
