Differences and similarities

>Must have: 100 % I am sure.
>Couldn't-can't  have: 100% is not true.

When we use could, may and might they are a similar structure:
Subject + Modal (Could/ May/ Might) + infinitive without to.
In negative we can use may not or might not.

might and could can suggest more uncertainty than may
We can use may not and might not when we are uncertain if something is true but not couldn't.
We use couldn't or can't when we are certain that something is not true.

Examples :

Could.
*She could be lost.
*My mom could be at home

Might
*She might come soon.
*She might go to the party tomorrow if you ask her

May
*She may be in the wrong room
*He may have the answer to the exam

Use
To talk about abilities and possibilities

 Can
 It's more common to talk about abilities in  the present
 Example: Nowadays we can investigate different topics on the internet.

 Couldn't
 We only can use Couldn't talk about particular possibilities in the past.

 Was/Were able to
We can use able to instead of could
Example:
-I was able to buy this book yesterday.
-When I was able to travel in France, I couldn't speak French.


Could and Couldn't
To talk about what people, in general, could do in the past
Example:
-We couldn't send text messages 200 years ago

Be able to
Can also be used in the present and the past(it's more formal). Also, we can use be able to when we talk about abilities and possibilities in the future.

Can
When we have decided about something in the future
I finish class today, so I can rest today
