https://padlet.com/ac28/3hknwv8vzpnk The ideas that I was thinking about for this piece was to show different women in my life who mean something to me and who inspire me. The women included in this piece is my mom, godmother, aunt, grandma, two friends, my girlfriend, and my second mom. Although some are older than me and some are around my age, they all have taught me something in my life at one point or another. This photo series connects to previous work because I like to do things that mean something to me. All of the women included in this piece inspire me to always be strong and that I can accomplish anything. They all have pushed me one or more times in my life to do my best. For example, the first picture on the upper left hand side is my mom. All throughout my life she has always been there for me and supported all of my decisions. For each of the photos I tried to brighten them up and add some warmth to some because I wanted to show a happy and positive feeling. I believe that the strongest part of my piece is the fact that I have a variety of different races and ages of women included in my photo series. If I was able to redo this, I would have wanted to personally take the photos of each person, however, I couldn’t because some of the women live in another state or hours away. For example, the picture of my godmother, the women with the blonde hair, lives 6 hours away so I wasn’t able to take a picture of her. I believe that if I was able to personally take the photos it would change the way that I edited them because with some of them, they were photos taken a long time ago or they were cropped photos from other images.
