The HUAC which stands for House Committe on Un-American Activites. It was a set up by Congress which let them look for communists outside of the government and inside aswell. This was set up in 1947. This effected many people because it would put people on a black list people when they are found guilt of sort communist relation. They would not get hired with any job which ruined their jobs.

The hollywood ten are ten people earlier before the HUAC was made. They refused to testify. They said that their testify. They were sent to jail for their refusal due the to red scare that was going in Europe and Asia. There was a rise of communist in Europe and Asia.

During this time of US history, the red scare came back. There were two people who added more fear to the red scare. One of them was named Alger Hiss. He was part of an official of the State Department. He was a spy for the Soviet Union. Hiss had documents that were implicated, he had claimed that they were forgeries. He was sent tot jail for lying and convicted of perjury.

The Rosenberg case started by a british scientist implicated two americans named Ethel and Julius Rosenberg. They were both members of the American Communist Party. They were charged with spying but they denied it. They were sentenced to death. Many people gave mercy to them because their wasn't much evidence. Ethel and Julius were both executed in 1953.

He said that Democrats they were guilty of letting Communist spread. He had also said that Communism was taking over the government. Soon he would accuse people  who supported communism with little to no evidence. This became known as McCarthyism. This lead to his downfall.

The US first had it in 1952. They exploded their first bomb which was hydrogen also known as the H- Bomb. The Soviet Union first got their bomb in 1953. The A-Bomb is an Atomic bomb, the H-Bomb is an hydrogen bomb which is more powerful than the A-Bomb.

They flew the aircraft high enough so they can't shot it. On May 1, 1920 the plane was shot down over the Soviet Union. Francis Gary Powers who was the pilot was captured and accused of spying. Later he used for a Soviet spy. This incident hurt Eisenhower and Krushchev meeting because it ruided Eisenhower ability to deal with the Soviet Union.
