The man in the picture above is my dad. My dad works as a co-producer in the production house - Dharma production. He has worked for 20+ years to get to the post he is at now. After hearing his backstory, I have come to believe that hard work pays off. 

He started off as a kid who lived in the refugee area of Bombay from the partition in 1947. Old moldy buildings, 2 sisters, his dad was a taxi driver, basically things weren’t the best. They got worse when his dad died, he was not even 18 but now was made the man of the house. He worked hours and hours.He worked so hard that every time he removed his socks, it would pull his skin off. Fortunately, after so much hard work, he started gaining recognition and connections. He then got into the film industry after trying a few acting gigs.

He did what he had to for the family. He is such a genuine hearted person, he worked so hard to make the amount of money he has yet whenever someone asks for help, he does not hesitate once - no matter the amount of money it will take him. On his own, with no money or property left to or for him, he worked so hard that now he has got his family into a 4BHK apartment in one of the biggest skyscrapers in Mumbai. 

He gave up his dreams of being a cricketer and went along with every opportunity he got. All these hurdles got him where he is today and I could not be more proud of him. I hope to make him super proud just like he makes his family proud.  

His dream was to become a pilot, but the requirement to pass an exam or complete the required training was to pay a certain amount of money, which my dad couldn't afford at the time. As a result, the only option left to him was to switch his major from pilot to engineering, and he was successful in doing so.

After putting in a lot of effort, he finally graduated with a very good degree in engineering and didn't waste any time looking for a job. Thankfully, he was accepted, but the job was outside of our hometown, so he had to travel there and back every two to three months. It was challenging at first, but he was pursuing his dream.

And of course what hard work brings is what the person deserves, so my dad began to get so many job opportunities in the gulf countries that he spent all of his time travelling. Not seeing him as often was sad, but I was also proud of his hard work because we were constantly switching countries, schools, and friends. It wasn't always easy, but I wanted to support my dad in every step, and now he is a successful CEO of a company and the manager of two others.
