Yes, although I feel Science should have more time. 

2. Interventions & Support Services

• Is the 30-minute Intensive Reading block meeting student needs effectively? There should be a transition time added here. 

• Are intervention times scheduled optimally to avoid conflicts with core instruction?

3. Planning & Collaboration

• Does the 55-minute planning period provide sufficient time for collaboration and instructional planning? Never, but looking at the "at least 45 minutes" that the county provides, I will say it's sufficient. 🙂 

• Would adjusted planning schedules improve team collaboration and instructional effectiveness?

4. Specials & Recess

• Are the recess and PE schedules working, or do students need more movement breaks? I feel that the recess needs to be extended by at least 10 minutes. After getting students from the cafeteria, and battling with 3^rd grade to actually get out, we have about 10 minutes left of the 15 minutes provided. 

• Does the Wednesday schedule, create any challenges? No

5. Departmentalization & Transitions (4th & 5th Grade)

• Are the ELA/Social Studies and Math/Science blocks structured efficiently? 

• Are transition times adequate without taking too much away from instruction? It is hard to start and finish Social Studies on time, with students coming into the room and getting unpacked, telling you about their whole life and listening to the announcements, hardly ever do I begin at 8:25. 

Oh, it says 4^th and 5^th grade. 😅

6. Realistic Schedule Adjustments

• What specific improvements could help, and how can we make them work within our constraints?

Taking Math from 70 minutes to 50 minutes. Adding 10 minutes to recess and 10 minutes to lunch for transition times.

• Are there creative scheduling solutions (e.g., staggered intervention times, flexible grouping) that could maximize instructional time?

Heterogenous classrooms or have teachers have one high one low

-Change the rotational order of how students transition to have less congestion in the hallways (Ms. M’s guide doesn’t need plannings to be changed, just the order of classes)

-Add a stagger between Adv team and On level team for bells (+1 minute, etc) for hallway congestion

-Level the classes not just based on math (some advanced math students are scoring at 3 or below on FAST or may need intensive reading/many on level students score 4/5 on ELA and are learning on level ELA)

-Switch PE planning to 5th for after lunch (Science planning to 2nd?)

-Give clarification on a room for PE or hallway area for changing/leaving backpacks. We were never updated after state rules
