         <title>THE EQUALITY ACT 2010</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The <strong>Equality Act 2010</strong> legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society. It replaced previous anti-discrimination laws with a single <strong>Act</strong>, making the law easier to understand and strengthening protection in some situations.27 Feb 2013<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;A new Equality Act came into force on 1 October 2010. The Equality Act brings together over 116 separate pieces of legislation into one single Act. Combined, they make up a new Act that provides a legal framework to protect the rights of individuals and advance equality of opportunity for all.<br><br></div><div>The Act simplifies, strengthens and harmonizes the current legislation to provide Britain with a new discrimination law which protects individuals from unfair treatment and promotes a fair and more equal society.<br><br></div><div>The nine main pieces of legislation that have merged are:<br><br></div><ul><li>the Equal Pay Act 1970</li><li>the Sex Discrimination Act 1975</li><li>the Race Relations Act 1976</li><li>the Disability Discrimination Act 1995</li><li>the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003</li><li>the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003</li><li>the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006</li><li>the Equality Act 2006, Part 2</li><li>the Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007</li></ul><div>My role as an assessor is to ensure all learners are made to feel equal, recognised and included within all situations and learning. Ensuring each individual is treated fairly and with person centred views.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Some individuals under 21 for example in last work place, sometimes became overlooked, following training and turning 21, however failing to increase wage to appropriate wage of setting and in contract. Shows importance of supervision/appraisal management.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>The <strong>Equal Pay Act</strong> 1970 is an <strong>Act</strong> of the United Kingdom Parliament which prohibits any less favourable treatment between men and women in terms of <strong>pay</strong>and conditions of employment. The <strong>Act</strong> has now been mostly superseded by Part 5, chapter 3, of the Equality <strong>Act</strong> 2010.<br><br></div><div>Should this issue arise and I was told this by a learner, I would approach the manager to address this and resolve.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;<a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/equality-act-2010-guidance">https://www.gov.uk/guidance/equality-act-2010-guidance</a></div>]]></description>
