The Holi festival or Festival of Colors is without a doubt the most colorful party in all of India! It announces the arrival of spring and the end of winter, symbolizing the victory of good over evil.
Paints and powders invade the Indian streets bringing people from all corners together in a single celebration. So, for just one day the only rule is to have fun, without distinctions of social class, religion and race. Making all the inequality disappear between the colors of the festival.
Holi is a Hindu celebration, the oldest religion in India. That is why the festival is based on several of its mythologies, one of which is the legend of Krishna and Radha.
According to the belief Krishna loved Radha, but he felt bad because of the difference in his skin colors. Then, following his mother's advice, he painted his face colorfully to be the same color as his beloved, so that they could celebrate their love together without judgment.

Carnival is a festival of Western Christianity that takes place before the liturgical season of Lent. The main events typically occur during February or early March, during the period historically known as the Time of the Seventieth (or pre-Lent). Carnival usually involves a public party and / or parade combining circus elements, masks and a public street party. People wear costumes during many of these celebrations, allowing them to lose their daily individuality and experience a heightened sense of social unity.

Excessive consumption of alcohol, meat and other foods banned during Lent is extremely common. Other common features of carnival include simulated battles, such as food fights; social satire and mockery of the authorities and a general reversal of day-to-day rules and norms.

St. Patrick's Day is an annual celebration held since 1997, celebrated on March 17th, celebrating the death of St. Patrick, patron of Ireland. When people dress in green and white, taking to the streets on a festive walk.

In 1999, it became a three-day event, and in 2000 it was a four-day event. In 2006, the festival lasted 10 days.

In the past, St. Patrick's Day was just a religious celebration. But in 1903, it became a public holiday. In England, it was introduced through Parliament by Irishman James O'Mara. He later introduced the law that prohibited pubs from closing on 18 March. The first demonstration took place in Dublin, in 1931, and was criticized by Minister Fitzgerald.

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by the Irish in cities large and small, as if it were our carnival - which can be compared to "street carnival parades". Some communities even dye rivers or streams green! People dress in green, paint shamrocks on their faces and watch St. Patrick's Day parades (parades). Among children, there is a tradition of pinching friends who don't wear green on this day.

Currently, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by people of all origins in the United States, Canada and Australia. Although North America is home to the largest productions, St. Patrick's Day is also celebrated in other locations far from Ireland, including Japan, Singapore, Russia, Argentina and some cities in Brazil. Everywhere, people dance, sing and drink "green beer" in Irish Pubs, just having a good time and enjoying themselves!

The start of the “battle” of tomatoes (AKA Latomatina) in Buñol has an uncertain origin. The most popular of theories is that, during the 1945 Gigantes Y Cabezudos parade, some young people decided to stage a fight in Plaza del Pueblo and the closest munition that existed was tomatoes. the police scolded them, but every year they returned and ended up becoming a tradition. Nowadays, the party has several rules to have fun safely.

The Holi festival always falls on Purnima, or the day of the full moon. It’s a two-day holiday; the day of the March full moon is Holika Dahan. That’s when a bonfire is lit for a puja (or prayer). The bonfire is cleansing and meant to burn away all the bad and evil. The next day, directly after the full moon, is all about the festival of colors.
